"In other news, I kinda didn't get Sephiration Anxiety at all. "
Just imagine it's implied yaoi and see what happens (it's not, but I've been told more than once it could be interpreted that way soo...). But really, I always thought it was my best song/video match-up...in terms of the lyrics, at least. :(
Yee! Only 2.5 days more of work and then I'm on vacation for almost two weeks!! I might actually bring my computer on vacation with me...which is rather ridiculous and a little dangerous (for the PC), but we'll see. I've GOT to get going on this Gankutsuou thing. What's bogging me down is that I can "see" the AMV fairly well when I just listen to the song - it's a great song, always a big help when making an AMV - but the second I sit down and try to cobble it together, all of that just goes right out the window. It's actually more of a song I feel, I guess, than see.
GAAHH!!! I'm going to end up making tons of custom graphics again, I just know it. GAAAAHHHH!!!

SF seeks SM for enjoying anime, video games, romps in the park with her dog, intelligent conversation and more!

I get an e-mail this morning from my mother saying I was likely to receive something at my home e-mail address that she got me for Christmas. She apologized, saying she hadn’t realized it was going to start so soon. Interest piqued, I of course check my e-mail. When I see what’s there, my horrified groan causes a coworker to turn around and ask with great dread, “What?!” figuring someone had died or something.
“My mother got me a three-month subscription to Match.com for Christmas.”
-_-
Cue me being the target of much hilarity in the office for the rest of the afternoon.
The last time I played around with something like an online matchmaking service, waaaayyy back when they were still sort of free, I got rejected as unsuitable relationship fodder. They never said what was wrong with me, exactly - maybe girls weren't supposed to be into video games at that time so that got me blacklisted - but I hope my mother has a money-back guarantee on this subscription, because I haven’t changed all that much since then. In fact, I’ve probably gotten “worse.”
What does this have to do with AMVs? I want a PS3 for Christmas and am very unlikely to receive one, even moreso now that this match.com subscription has shown up. Fortunately, this past weekend I promised myself that if I do a really good job on my Anime Boston entry, then I’ll buy myself a PS3. Isn’t it wonderful? When Match.com asks me what my goals are, they will be to make an anime music video that doesn’t bomb so I can pay myself off with a video game console.

AMV #4/5: In the beginning, there was much complaining...

Alternative Gankutsuou AMV (no title yet):
Pre-edit: Let's say 10 to save my sanity
Edit: 5?
The Good: It's nice to not to feel like I'm being dragged kicking and screaming to my desk to work on an AMV, aka how I felt about the other Gankutsuou thing I was plotting.
The Bad: Even if there is no kicking and screaming going on, I'm still aggravated by the process. Wwwwhhhyyyyy must I be so bad at this?? Will I someday get to make an AMV that's fun to work on? That actually comes together without driving me up the wall?
The Ugly: I got semi-psyched up about a different AMV this morning and spent an hour or so on it...then realized that it's really not the sort of thing I should send to an AMV competition. I've really backed myself into a corner this time, because I don't have the time to make what I want to make (aka screw around for two months experimenting with stuff), so I'm stuck with this Gankutsuou...thing. Very annoying. BUT in my defense I've been quite busy with other stuff for the past few months with no time for AMVs (and still should be quite busy *cough*).
In other news: there's an updated picture of my dog in my profile. I call it "Winter Corgi." We hiked for about two hours today, despite the fact that she had to hop around in my footprints because the snow was too deep for her to walk through and not hard enough on top to walk on. I should have worn my snowshoes, it would have been a lot easier for all involved.

yeap, I'm gearing up for another video - witness high number of journal posts

AB 2009: Alternative Gankutsuou video. It's not going to be earth-shattering, or even all that original, but then again it's not supposed to be. Maybe it will even fail miserably, I don't know. It just seems like a good idea. :|
Gankutsuou is cursed though, I think. For the third time, footage I ripped from Disc 2 and fastidiously saved for a rainy day went bad on me. Now I have to rent the disc AGAIN and rip it AGAIN...argh...
Footloose AMV will be made after this one. Maybe. I don't see how this one could take me hundreds of hours...but who knows. I do love to experiment. Plus, this time I actually have to make something that stands on its own two feet, no gimmicks...well maybe there will be, that's part of the experimentation process. I would love for one thing I have in mind to work, but I don't actually even know how to do it, nevermind if it will look ok.

I've got this uber terrific 7-second prototype clip from my Footloose-AMV-perhaps-never-to-be that I keep watching over and over and over and over again. How awesome can a 7-second prototype clip be (that has no effects whatsoever, I might add)? Ok, so I have a thing for Vincent, so maybe I just like watching him, but still...I think guys would find it fun, too! It's my most favorite AMV...thing I've ever made.
Anyways...what irks me is the knowledge that adding an AMV around this 7 seconds could wreck it. It's like having a scrumptious slice of pork pie in front of you and knowing that it's going to be sooooo yummy...but also that once you eat it, it's not yummy anymore and you might never again find an equally delectable slice. No doubt many other people have faced similar dilemmas (both the AMV snippet and the pork pie), but I don't find myself in this kind of situation too often (pie or AMV).
Ok, so I hoard things. I hoard pens, fabric, candles, paper, clothing, shoes, perfume and AMV snippets. Also towels. And gourmet butter. :|
