Old? Who's worried about being old? There's a handful of us around here who don't want to hear anyone who hasn't reached their third decade of existance complaining about being "old." Not that we ARE old, but it's really kind of silly. :)

I have to say that most guys my own age seem very old to me. I think it's because women can - for whatever reason - appear younger than they are without too much trouble (if indeed they even try - I certainly don't, and yet I still get carded) but men...well...it seems like there's a lot more very obvious signs of maturity in men (by which I mean physical maturity, NOT mental!!!). For some reason I've got this mental image of datable guys looking like they did when I was in college. :| I wonder how long this will continue.
You know what's weird? When there's a banner on the top of the page that features the site logo only a little smaller than the real thing, and it winds up looking like the main logo is a big fish eating the little logo/fish. @_@
Ahh...and in AMV news, I possibly reinstalled my editing stuff last night. "Possibly" because I've only very briefly tested a few apps to make sure things work the way they used to. Something's wrong with Premiere, I already know that. It's having an issue with my sound card, which is silly b/c it never did before. Plan is to attempt to run through the AMV process very briefly, soup to nuts, and make sure there are no hidden surprises. I don't want to get to the con and be sitting there with my teammate, ready to encode our video, and discover that I'm missing a vital AVS plugin or something.

Battle of the Slow Editors...it's perfect! :D
Just have to reinstall all my editing software and we can get cracking!

Been trying to pick out two songs for this Extreme IE competition in November I somehow got talked into. One has to be a song "I" want, the other a song I want the other team to use, however I doubt very much that's what's going to happen when things get down to the wire. More importantly, since I already expect to ruin and/or severely handicap my team, I figure belaboring my song choice is not only silly, but pointless. So, for the moment I've decided to approach it the same way I'm trying to approach the entire debacle: make it fun. I don't CARE if I hand the other team a good song to edit with; if we get a better IE event out of it, then it's all good, right?
I know I wouldn't want to sit through a four-hour IE event only to be subjected to AMVs set to horrendous music. But maybe I'm biased.
Also, some UToober read one of my 'Bustin magazine covers closely enough to lecture me on the proper pronunciation of Cait Sith. Consider me enlightened. However - in my defense - AFAIK FF7 was subtitled, so I very much doubt tons of gamers ran out to discover the proper pronunciation of Cait Sith when it popped up on screen, leading to a large number of people who are now a) ignorant of the truth or b) with fond memories of The Time Before Truth, in which case my little joke is not an utter failure, non-technically speaking. And if it wasn't subtitled...then...um...this is further proof that I'm not a die-hard FF7 fan. Yeah. And my joke is still kind of a pun. :| I don't care? Nobody really cares? And yet, SOMEONE out there cared...but maybe they just think other people should care, too? Sounds like something I'd do. LOL
Other people should care about this, so that's why I care about it!
But nobody care BUT you!
Yeah, well, they should! That's the point! I can't BELIEVE no one cares about this! It's criminal!
...
I wouldn't have to care if other people cared! That's why this is so important!
You're weird.
So?!

You know you're too tired when...

you're downloading some AMVs, and you read this:
THIS VIDEO IS PURELY FAN-MADE AND IS IN NO WAY ASSOCIATED WITH THE MUSICAL ARTIST OR ANIME COMPANY IN ANY WAY.
And all you see is:
THIS VIDEO IS PURELY MADE OF WIN...
It's all those w's close to i's and n's, I guess. :|
Ugh, so my computer is still not quite back up to speed. Had a bad time installing my graphic programs, for some reason, and I haven't yet attempted to install the AMVapp. I just know that's going to be rough. After that I have to attempt to brush up on my editing, b/c I'm apparently going to have to do it for entertainment in November. I can see it now:
Bashar Who wants to see the most sorry excuse for an Iron Editor contestant in HISTORY?
Audience We do!!
Bashar Well today's you're lucky day, because we have here on stage an editor who has made some decent videos...but actually insists she's totally unfit for IE! I say we put her to the test!
Audience *roars approval*
Me Can I go home now?
My Teammate Yes, please. I don't really want to have you dragging me down.
Me No problem, I'm sure this whole event is better off without me! *starts to leave*
dokool No, no way you're getting out of this one, Drift.
Me :(

My short-lived AMV editor career is nearing a spectacularly *fail* end
2009-08-30 12:19:59
Just agreed to participate in a AAC's Extreme Iron Editor competition. This is epic fail on an epic scale. Best I can hope for is providing some audience entertainment so as to distract from the fact that video editing is not my strong point. This is such a BAD idea...at least when the contest implodes due to my presence, I can say "I told you so."
I've been told to practice. :( I'm not even sure what the heck I can do TO practice. Find people to fake IE with? And here I just found out that I can't find my video editing software ANYWHERE...living room's all torn apart, discs everywhere, but it's not here, which means I stuck it all somewhere weird.
