XII
Pre-edit: 11 hours
Edit: 0
The Good: I'm rampaging through the remaining discs like the nutcase I am. Fortunately, the amount of usable footage towards the end of the series takes a nosedive.
The Bad: The amount of usable footage near the end of the series takes a nosedive.
The Ugly: I've been keeping my dread of this at bay pretty well, but the fact remains that I've tried to make this AMV before and always come to a screeching halt when the stunning lack of footage can no longer be denied. Oh well, I'm determined to pull this AMV out of my ass, so out of my ass it must come!
That sounded so bad. :|

Project Anime Boston 2011: I.E.I CAN DO EEET!!
2010-08-01 09:40:43
Today it begins. The plan is as follows:
I. Immersion
I have not been very actively engaged with the AMV community for awhile, mostly due to my life being insane over the past year and a half, but this needs to be remedied. I'm a lot more psyched about editing when I'm looking around at all these cool things people are doing and thinking "I really want to do that, too." It's what got me into this, after all.
II. Education
My hopefully next AMV involves a lot more AE than I'm used to and I don't have time to bumble my way through things. I've already started re-learning CS4, so now it's just discipline, discipline, discipline.
III. I CAN DO EEEET!!
This worked for me the first time (also the last time), and while my motivation is nowhere near as high, I've got the added benefit of more experience under my belt and the knowledge that, while failure is an option, it's not the only option.
Today I plan to finish ripping all my footage, after a lengthy hiking expedition which hopefully will not result in bear encounters or further accidents involving poison ivy, which I am currently suffering greatly from thanks to my dog rolling happily in the plants my landlord decided to weed-whack and then mow, spreading outraged poison ivy tidbits all over my lawn. I think I've even got it in my throat. Yes, IN MY THROAT.
p.s. If XII falls in bloody flames for a third time, I may tackle another comedy AMV. Er...maybe. I just remembered that if my clip doesn't make it into AMV Hell 5 that I was going to make a full AMV out of it...ugh...more Advent Children?? Kill me now. :(

My life is a...computer highway....I don't wanna riiide it...aaaall niiiight looooong.
2010-07-18 18:09:36
It's a good thing I enjoy what I do for a living, because this business of being on a computer 12 hours a day is tiring. I figure, however, that once I'm done with the craziness at work (new catalog), I will settle in an attempt to make XII. I'm still not sure how I feel about the potential for elaborate (or seemingly so) effects and rotoscoping - it's pretty easy, I can do it in my sleep, but it takes a long, long time during which my dog will be giving me the evil eye, and that's unpleasant.
Sad news: My old computer - the only thing capable of making clips out of my precious, long-hoarded Dirge of Cerberus footage - suffered heat stroke last week. It's gone into that little blinking white cursor at in the top left-hand corner mode (insert hyphens). Haven't stuck it in the freeze because there's nothing on the HD to save. Better it died now than when I was using it as a backup drive, I guess. :| Still, I KNEW I should have converted all that footage when I had the chance. *grumble* I still don't know why my newer PC can't handle those files....*plots utilizing someone else's machine*
In other news: "We're Gonna Step on You Again" was also covered by Def Leppard. They did a terrifically terrible job at it, which makes me wonder why in the world they even bothered. Nonetheless, I perhaps found a series to go with that song, 'cept it won't be NEARLY as hilarious. Making it a multi-anime AMV makes my head spin, so I think that's out even though it's the logical step to take. Awesome Humor vs. Awesome Laziness - which will win???

I'm definitely seeing things
2010-07-05 08:58:54
Lately I've been seeing words that aren't really there, possibly because I'm an extremely fast reader. Example: an e-mail referencing two of my coworkers - Bob and Ellen - with "effect" thrown in turned into "Check with Boba Fett about the meeting" and I got all giddy because there was apparently a conversation about Star Wars going on.
I was sent over the edge just now by the following:
The Twilight Saga: Eclipse NEW!
Opened June 30, 2010 | Runtime:2 hr. 4 min.
intense sequences of action and violence, and some sensuality
Genres: Teen Movie, Romantic Fantasy, Fantasy
I swear I read:
The Twilight Saga: Eclipse NEW!
Opened June 30, 2010 | Runtime:2 hr. 4 min.
intense sequences of angst and violence, and some sexuality
Genres: Teen Movie, Romantic Angstasy, Angstasy
Even though I'm wrong, I think I'm very, very right.
