Feels a little weird to be posting in the forum. Reflects the fact that I prefer not to get involved in discussions if I don't have something I really want to say. Sometimes I say it and just move on, sometimes I stick around to beat that dead horse, but I try to leave most of the rambling, inconsequential stuff to my journal.
'Cept in this case, of course. When I was in college, I was told fairly often that I should be a lawyer because I seemed to debate things exhaustively and just not let them go. Quite honestly, though, I'm not the lawyer type - I don't care anywhere near as much about "winning" a debate as simply HAVING a good debate (or discussion, as I prefer to call them).
Hrm, where was I going with this...something about not wanting to get into debates with people who will wind up taking things too personally, and that this is a somewhat ironic situation, since I easily take the wrong things personally. Not the same things, though, which is where the bizarre disconnect occurs. I'm better than I used to be, when it comes to being careful what I say (and how I say it), but I also don't speak up much, anymore, and when I do, I agonize over every word. Haven't quite fully figured out all the reasons for that, but if I make enough quasi-AMV-related journal entries, I'll probably reach some kind of conclusion, someday.

In AMV news, there's not much news, in fact, I'm debating whether to fix some lingering issues with L.F.S. which have been troubling me more and more the closer it gets to actually being shown in public. The con versions I can't fix, but what I release on the Internet still can be tweaked..it'll take awhile, though. Grrr....at the same time I just want to get it out there and have all this be over with... -

@ Bashar Thanks!! Looking forward to seeing yours at the AMV Panel. ;) I really do want to get more information from Adam at the AMV dinner as to how these screenings go down. Does he bribe people with lots of food and drink to get them to even agree to come and be tortured? What does he do when the bribery doesn't work? Is this how the con hazes new staff members?
So this is quite a relief. I finally feel like I can relax and just focus on enjoying my video, now. Watched the real trailer for the first time in about five months the other day and decided I can now tolerate it (I once loved it so much I made an AMV out of it - that's how far I've fallen). Knights of Badassdom is troublingly lacking in PR buzz, though. Is it stuck in some kind of development hell?
