Next-to-last reviewer's package went out the door yesterday on the pen tool tutorial. Now I just need to wait for the complaints to roll and make any corrections before uploading it here. This isn't nearly as satisfying as finishing and uploading and AMV (still haven't quite managed that, though not for lack of trying), but it's not too shabby, either.
I wonder if my car is fixed yet...?
Ah, so next weekend I'm off to Boston for the Photoshop World Conference. I'm planning to hit Tokyo Kid (anime store) while I'm there to see if I can't pick up a few DVDs or whatnot. I'd like some more wallscrolls, too. I wish there were a truly stocked-to-the-ceiling anime store around here. It is soooo tempting just to go to Anime Boston for the day JUST to go to the dealer's room...hmm...oh god...I'm so tempted... :( Hey, I have a full three-day pass, I can do whatever I want, damnit! I wonder if, if I hid really well in a closet or something, I could stay overnight without anyone detecting me. -_- You know what...I'm going to check out cheap hotels. I don't care how annoying it is to miss the later-at-night convention stuff, I NEED TO GO TO A CON NOW. -

So I'm zeroing in on 200 hours on this AMV of mine. I'm looking forward to reaching that benchmark of having done more editing than pre-editing.
p.s. I also logged about an hour on "Jenova's Brat" but that didn't amount to anything substantial - basically I need to get a grip on that thing before even attempting to go any further with it. Also need to find my Dirge of Cerberus FMV clips...hrm... -

Nothing like a good afternoon of editing to put me in a fantastic mood. After messing with the pen tool tutorial for the umpteenth time, the wretched thing is finally ready for a final review (volunteers welcome!, just e-mail me driftroot@animemusicvideos.org) and then it's out of my hands. UGH, I should get kudos for completing this instead of an AMV over the course of the past six months.
Ah, but I said I got some AMVing in today. Right! Made nice headway on "Addict" by abandoning for the time being the intro (which was destroyed umpteen times over by hard drive failures, etc. and cannot be salvaged) and focusing on one of my favorite scenes: the pool table conversation. *cackles* Only bad part is that the dreaded thing I was dreading - not having enough footage to pull off certain scenes - is already upon me. BUT I must persevere!! Add three hours to whatever tally this AMV was at - I need to dig that up. -

It's got nothing to do with a fish fin, or folks from Finland - I don't think, but maybe, who knows? - and it's OK as long as you don't stare at it for too long...
Note to self via journal: contact admin 'round here again regarding accepting my tutorial in PDF form and point out the spelling mistake on the Guides page. ^_^ -
The countdown begins!

Version 4.4 of the pen tutorial is completed. Tasks left include embedding all video, reviewing my reviews one more time and then finding a few more willing folks to test the whole thing and work out any remaining bugs. I also need to embark on an advertising camaign, of sorts, 'round here. Which means making a new sig banner... *sigh*
Riiiight! Back to work, then!
Just think...wow, once this tutorial is done, I can actually get back to my AMVs! :D I've already logged about 60 hours on this tutorial...that's a heck of a lot more than a lot of so-called AMV editors spend on THEIR projects. Hah, just goes to prove I can tackle something and actually finish it.
*makes mental note to update banner sig for "Addict" to "coming 2008" and cross out the "2006"* :/ It might take me five years, but gosh darnit, I WILL FINISH THAT AMV!!
