I think I can pull this off

'Bustin
Pre-edit: 28
Editing: 64
The Good: There it went, over 100 hours. *whips out the champagne* I knew I could do it. Wait, that's not 100 hours...that's...92. (Yes, I just got out a calculator to figure that out). *puts champagne away* Hmm, what else is good? Oh, I now see all kinds of flaws with Sephiration Anxiety, which means I've gotten better at this AMV stuff. Hopefully I can fix them when I redo it (I even put a huge warning about the aspect ratio problem in the info section, hey, at least I'm being honest).
The Bad: I have never wanted to throttle Reno as much as I do right now. He is THE THORN IN MY SIDE for this AMV. He is just NEVER doing the right thing at the right time. Never.
The Ugly: It's funny (not really) how some of the things I most want to do properly with 'Bustin are proving to be the most difficult. STUPID, WRETCHED TRACK MATTE SCROLLING TEXT STUFF IS LAUGHING AT ME!! IT HATES ME! IT'S TRYING TO RUIN MY AMV!!! AAAggGhHHh!!!!
*cough*
I predict 'Bustin will garner the reaction:"It was a good idea, too bad she couldn't go all the way with it." Hey, anyone else is welcome to give it a shot, because I would absolutely love to see it done the way it should be.
*goes back to editing*

Just :( all around

I spent four days grabbing about 20 GB of anime I've missed out on during the past year. Yesterday I thoroughly enjoyed myself watching the second half of Death Note, not done yet (talk about brushing over some important stuff, it pulls a Wily Coyote: just goes right off a cliff and realizes it's plummeting to the earth about 10 seconds too late).
I'm starting to get a panicky feeling about 'Bustin (which may be renamed "Adventure or Bust"). My original, lofty plan had been discarded due to its complexity, but some people feel it's worth pursuing ... but I don't think there's time. AGH!! It's so annoying! On the one hand, I have about 3/4 of the AMV done, and at least half of that does not need to be changed if I go with my original plan, but that plan strips out some of THE most important parts which is what gives the existing AMV that special something. A kind of "it was a nice idea, but..." special something... :(
ARGH! *kicks at fluffies* I want this to be awesome! It's not awesome! I don't think I have the footage/time/skill to make it awesome! I wish FF folk watched more TV.
And my dog leaped over a frozen snowbank and wrenched her hip on Sunday, so I had to spend all the money I got for X-mas on the vet bill. Now she's depressed, because she can't run around or do anything, and thinks aI condone animal torture because I was holding her leash when the vet was manipulating the wounded leg. Those accusing eyes! Those quivering whiskers! "Why are you letting them hurt me, mommy??" :(:(:(

A. My sister thought 'Bustin was hilarious.
B. She started laughing before the funny stuff kicked in.
A. My sister's boyfriend figured out within 2 seconds that S.A.'s aspect ratio was off in a wild and wacky way.
B. I will probably redo S.A. right after 'Bustin is done. Completely horrible what I did. It was an innocent, even well-meaning mistake, but it needs to be fixed ASAP.
A. My mother, of all people, gave me several really, really good ideas for 'Bustin, Thank you!!
B. She said this was the first AMV she ever "got" - she's seen various AMV Hells along with a few of my favorites - but when I pressed for specifics, she said, "Oh, you know, demons and goblins...!"
"Mom. There are no demons or goblins in my AMV."
"Oh, you know...!" *much hand waving ensues*
She also said it was "really neat." The last time I said something was "really neat," I was referring to a crayon drawing of a shark/lobster/alien a coworker's five-year-old daughter made.
Anyways, the first beta has left the building, It's up on my site (finally) safe and sound. I look forward to hearing back about it. Honest, constructive criticism is very much appreciated.

It's about time I made a short journal post.

Given the adrenaline high I was on when attempting to halter a high-strung mare who'd just won a mutual "let's be bitches" bucking match with another mare, I've got nothing to worry about when it comes to surviving 'Bustin in public.
Just like when I jumped into water that was below freezing and actually felt my entire system slow down and thought "Oh, so this is what dying from severe hypothermia feels like, cool," I now have no issues running into the ocean full steam.
Merry Christmas! ^_^

Gimme a break...

Hrm hrm, so I recently participated in the following conversation about 'Bustin, which relates to my in-your-face tabloid gimmick upon which so much hinges:
Them:"That was great."
Me: "So did you see everything? I mean, I don't expect you to see EVERYTHING, just the important stuff."
Them: "Yeah" [long pause - this was a verbal conversation] "I missed the stuff at the beginning, though. It was too fast, I didn't get a chance to read it."
Me. "....." [scrolls back through AMV to get to the stuff at the beginning]
Them: [pointing at screen] "Yeah, I totally missed that. Oh, that's funny!"
Me: "...." [trying to be polite, since this person is not familiar with more seizuriffic kinds of AMVs and has no idea that what I've done is pretty tame]
Them: "But yeah, that was great. Did you come up with all of that by yourself?"
Me: "...." [beginning to get a bit annoyed - how close attention WERE THEY PAYING?? You don't just swipe this kind of thing from somewhere else!] "Yeah, it was all mine."
Them: "Wow, yeah that was great."
Me: "Thanks..." [-_- Yeesh, I'm getting the feeling it wasn't that great! Anyone else getting that feeling??]
The kicker is that the stuff at the beginning is on screen much longer than any of the other stuff, so them saying they can't read the former is a HUGE red flag that they probably couldn't/didn't read the latter. I hate people who can't give honest feedback. So untrustworthy...it's like, why bother? It's possible that the beginning is so unexpected that their brain wasn't prepared to receive it, but still...
