&*@#$!!

Well, thanks to ScottG, I've figured out WTF is going on with S.A. Somebody put it up on UToob. -_- It's now up there with the company of 19 other videos I'm guessing the proud account holder - Kadaj669 - also failed to ask permission to post.
They've got a whole BUNCH of other people's AMVs up there -they're not taking credit for them thank goodness - but the UTOOB motto IS "broadcast yourself" not "broadcast someone else." Sooo... I'm not going to go all out and PM PM PM, but if you've made an AC AMV, you might want to peruse http://www.youtube.com/profile?user=Kadaj669.
Now I have to hunt down this person and advise them, for their own safety/reputation, they ask permission in the future from AMV authors. I breathlessly await a one-finger salute in response.
*sigh* So much for my paranoid theory that someone was jerking around with me and hitting "refresh" on S.A.'s info page to rack up the hits. UTOOB?? That is the LAST thing I would ever expect to happen to me.

EHHH x 20

Almost 100 hits overnight on S.A., but no downloads. What the HECK is going on?! Did the site's hit counter slow down to a crawl and then suddenly play catch up?? *utterly confused* I could accept this more easily if the downloads also increased, but they're not, so it seems like something's out of whack.
I will be fixing the aspect ratio on S.A. soon. although a lot of people hardly notice as being "off" (I didn't notice and I stared at the footage for 100+ hours, if I had noticed it would not have happened-DUH). As soon as 'Bustin is finished, speaking of which, I wrecked another 10 hours of work last night within about a half hour. The finale is slowly but surely falling apart, despite the fact that the first time I just casually cobbled it together, it blew me away how perfectly it worked. Unfortunately I kept tampering with it and now, two months later, I can't figure out what I did in the first place that looked so good. -_-

Ehh?

I'd like to know what the heck is going on. There has been a significant spike in hits on Sephiration Anxiety recently. Not downloads, hardly anyone touches it anymore (though when they do, its star rating goes up, which is nice. Gotta fix that aspect ratio problem soon). Are people going crazy for Advent Children AMVs all of a sudden?? Or maybe going crazy for Phil Collins? I don't get it.

Reminder to self:

1. Figure out how to pay for all-new struts. $150 apiece + labor = $1,000+
2. Figure out how many varieties of Maruchan noodles I can stand eating for the next month. They recently started selling teriyaki yakisoba at the (only) grocery store within 30 miles and I was floored by how yummy it is. The cheese variety also is pretty tasty. This is good, because I'm not partial to ramen. Oh well, I was trying to lose those 5 lbs I put on over X-mas...
3. Backup my AMV.
4. Comment on the fact that no matter how hard I work I can never seem to get away with earning more money - I'm always forced to spend it. On little things, you know, like one's only means of transportation, food, vet bills...
5. Backup my AMV.
6. Backup my AMV.
7. Set up some kind of countdown timer that will predict when my 5+ year old hard drive, which was running marathons 24/7 for four years straight, will die. It's already suffering from symptoms of old age, but so far it's hanging in there.
Hmm, in AMV land - 'Bustin will probably be done fairly soon. I really, really do not enjoy watching/working on it anymore and except for a few small things (and one big thing that I'm too burned out with this project to attempt) there's not much more I can do. Except my bloopers. Wow, that actually brought a smile to my face. Amazing.

'Bustin

Things continued moving in a positive direction today. Unfortunately, I've run up against that brick wall of ignorance, which is confounding my most lofty goal of some serious work in AE. I know how to do the rotoscoping part, but it's the stuff under the mask that's extremely difficult. Advent Children, being so lifelike, is VERY unforgiving of added images - it's one thing to approximate the "look" of the footage one frame at a time, it's quite another thing to precisely mimic camera angles, blur and lighting effects over the course of about 10 seconds. Consequently, I gave more than a moment's consideration to a flashing warning on the footage along the lines of:
"Square-Enix didn't fully animate the phone, and if THEY couldn't be bothered, I can't be bothered."
or
"Fill in the blank" [arrow pointing to blank]
or
"I know, this would look great with rotoscoping."
I've already seriously undermined the integrity of this scene, so whacking the viewer over the head with a second shovel might be fairly painless - they're already reeling from the first blow.
