I think I've identified the multiple sources of my deep misgivings about releasing this AMV:

Apparently I lied, because it wasn't done. I am going back and forth big time about how to get people to understand what, exactly, happened with this AMV. And I still know it's going to bomb. I'm even using a bad word in my announcement poster, hoping that will get across my level of frustration, but I think that's going to get me into more trouble.. (I may decide to take the word out - I should know by now that if I have a bad feeling about something, NOT to do it.) I just can't win, no matter what I do - this entire AMV is a colossal failure. Unfortunately, that's why I find it amusing. But will other people? :(
Oh well. I've decided that I don't see my AMVs the way other people see them, so it's a six-to-one, half-a-dozen to another what kind of reaction it gets.
After this, I'm either going to try and make my Gankutsuou AMV or my Excel AMV (or my MOHS AMV) because I seriously need to distance myself from Advent Children. I've got a lot of other stuff going on other than AC, but you'd never know it from what I've released. :| I've also got to take a breather from Cloud & Co. so that, when I go back to them for another round of abuse, I'm not sick to death of their resistance to my plans. -

The Good: It's done. No one, NO ONE, can say I am not getting better as an editor because look at how fast I made this AMV!! Not only that, technically speaking I made this AMV several weeks after my first one and at that time it took me about 10 hours, all told, to put it together. Recreating it, dumping on loads of funny sauce (which this time around is sickly sweet, rather than cheesy) and spiffing it up took another 18 hours. Still a hideous amount of time to spend on a project like this by some people's standards, but really amazing when you consider this is ME we're talking about. This is the first AMV I've made that took less than 100 hours! This is GREAT!! :D
The Bad: I anticipate a lot of commentary about how I really slacked off, how it's stupid, it's stupid, it's stupid, how this AMV should never have been made, how it's a crime against AMVs, etc. etc. I don't plan on defending myself too much - I'm just going to be very clear in the comments area and in the announcement thread what this AMV is about. If you don't like the sound of it, then DON'T WATCH IT. Why anyone would deliberately download an AMV they don't like the sound of is beyond me (unless you're in #review, in which case it comes with the territory).
The Ugly: Apparently, now that I have won an award or two, I'm supposed to be showing dramatic improvement as an editor and not making stupid AMVs. MSAMAMV is probably not going to do me any favors in that department... I guess I'll just keep trying to stress that it - not 'Bustin - was my second AMV, which would mean 'Bustin remains my latest and greatest creation. Kind of. :|
Now I'm off to make an announcement poster that will puzzle many people, but provide me with lots of amusement. I must say, it is soooo nice to be able to finish the video editing part of an AMV and move onto the graphic design part - it's like this massive weight is lifted off my shoulders...ahh, YES now I get to do something I DO know how to do well!
So yeah, MSAMAMV will probably be released Monday or Tuesday. /me runs off -
'Bustin - NOW IN RUSSIAN

In my paranoid and silly attempt to keep track of my AMVs, I discovered that ‘Bustin has found its way onto the Russian site amvnews.ru. They put up the MP4 file and even put up some beautiful screenshots (some of their choices are quite puzzling), but didn’t actually link TO my AMV/me in any way, shape or form. Grrr… Not much I can do to insert myself into the situation - language barrier and all that - but attempting to figure out what’s going on there is quite fun, because Babelfish is apparently not so good at translating discussions having to do with AMVs:
General description of ‘Bustin: Variation on the theme of hunters after the bringings. As it was explained in iskhodnikakh on universe Final Fantasy OF THE VII it is contained the heap of material. And vualya after small cosmetic work we obtained sufficiently merry stebnoye video. Although video can seem by that a little tightened, the kreativnaya work of the author will not give to be bored.
Some comments:
-Idea caused smile... yes and was completed well... to finalku something interesting and unique to make this already almost an exploit (although as occurs the idea it is not new)... 4 it by one third reduced... by moments tightened, imkho A clip ErMaC'a also was pleased... although to compare it does not pull... too great a time interval
-Outstanding AMV in order to raise to itself mood. You think, well why everything so is bad, there is no AN it occurs and it is worse, you will look clip and whereas ubedish'sya(tebya do not force to run 0 0N throughout the world "finalki" under the music of "hunters"), and to live immediately it will begin somehow merrier
-olichnaya theme..... this east in me constantly in plere weighs! by the film of tozh was always enraptured well and finalka this simply creation on mayemu to opinion.... thread superskaya it came out, to 5 unambiguously...... and for those coma the tail piece of neporadovala: 1 to teach Eng. 4z. 2 if did not look film, I advise to posmatret'!!!
-By the places of skirnshoty with the inscriptions (i.e. periodical), in other respects beautiful scenes from mul'ta under the nerodnym sound... it is despondent, but it could be and worse. It is fecal. I place two.
-To this song old clip (2001g) ErMaC'a on Phatom Quest Corps thing, and this... the it's a pity spent by the author resources on entire kreativ... 3+.
-Thus far I think as it relates to this clip. That it sufficiently kreativno do not argue. One time looks with the interest, for the second time already hardly. From technical kosyachkov I will note zamylennost' of video and excessive Sharp on the built-in images. But in spite of deficiencies in the perhaps second interesting reliz since the beginning of 2008.
As far as I can tell, most people think it’s fairly creative but that it dropped the ball big time in a number of areas. Gee, isn’t that what I’ve always said, too? heh, that third to last comment sounds like godix! :P
What’s really interesting is that my AMV over there has the exact same star rating as it did over here before it was shown in competition.

Ok, I not only need a co-conspirator with a fast Internet connection, I need someone with whom I can brainstorm about how to get around my file transfer challenges (we need a big FTP site somewhere that I can access from work).
Oh, and they also need to have a good rep for running MEPs and overall be someone who a lot of people have a lot of trust in. Erm, and this isn't an MEP, it's more like a massive collaboration...though it still presents almost all of the same challenges as an MEP.

Let's face it, it's not going to happen. I have to make it all by myself, just a solo project, no MEP.
/me is scared. I don't know if I'm ready to make an AMV like this. Plus I don't even know if it would "work." At least with 'Bustin I knew, if I could pull it off, it would work.
