  • lol 2002-10-16 07:16:13 Anyway, sorry about that entry, Xtremeaatma. I was cranky and had been programming for the past three hours (still no excuse really) and I ended up taking it out on you. You do have a valid point, although I guess we should all remember that when on the forums we should respect each others opinions.

    Also thanks, trythil for that yummy piece of humble pie -_-;;
  • trythil 2002-10-16 07:11:00 ^_^ ah, gomen! Perhaps writing responses at 4 am is not the best thing to do. Thanks!
  • Sorry rys and Woo Hoo Death to forum! Multi-Kusoyaro? 2002-10-15 14:16:12 Okay, first off, I'm sorry to hear how AnimeUSA went for you rys. It is true that many fans are as you say "biased" towards a music video. I did not attend AnimeUSA but I am curious to hear what music video you chose as the winner of the contest and what your view on why you liked it so much was. I've seen many contests and I've always wondered what goes though the judges mind (other than "damn my butt hurts" and "oh god not another linkin park, DBZ video!"). I mean what impresses you the most with music videos? Is there anything in particular that you like as far as effects to none effects go? As an amv creator I truely would like the opinion of an experienced creator and judge.

    Now, looking at the shutdown of the forums, I'm both happy and sad about that. Happy because forums are, to quote piro from megatokyo, like a pack of bitter rabid badgers. The best part about them no longer being here is that possibly those people who used them will go elsewhere. I'm still sorry about what happened with aluminum studios creator when he went there, but I hope he realizes (as well as those that have gotten rude reviews) that those people do not stand for the majority of us at AMV. Most of us don't use the forums at all for those reasons.

    Now I'm really worried that those little "opinionated SOB's" will start posting sick littel journal enteries that will offend us all. I've already begun to bookmark all of you who say things that are both helpful and opinionated. I suggest you all do the same in preparing for that time.

    Quick question to Kusoyaro: Are you really using two accounts or is that some friend who thought they'd mess with our minds?
  • SOB Primere 2002-10-14 13:30:49 It's really upsetting when I try to take all the old clips that I have laying around (on cd) from when I was running 98 and working with primere and I try to work with them in XP. I'm not totally sure why, but Primere just blows chunks in anything but 98.

    I can't even get my damn footage to export properly anymore. Hmmm, mind you this was a last minute try at about 12 am just because I needed my computer to work on something while I was sleeping. I'll have to try different codecs till I find the right one. One thing is for sure though. NEVER EVER EVER use the Divx codec with primere. It's like putting a can in a bait shop and telling it not to mess with any of the bait. Adobe must really hate divx! Well back to work for me.
  • The Niagara Falls 2002-10-13 13:44:50 Wee, well that was fun. Let me tell you, if you ever go to the falls between Canada and the US go on the Canadian side. Not only is the town more interesting, not as crime ridden, cleaner, and friendlier, but you also get a better view of the falls. My GF and I went over there and we had lots of fun. Strangely enough, it wasn't the falls that caught and held my attention, but the botanical gardens. If there's one thing you Canadians should be proud of, it should be that you have excellent butterfly gardens. I loved that! You just walk around this really big greenhouse/rainforest -like room. It had giant trees, lots of flowers, and every kind of butterfly you can think of. Even the butterflies in Canada are friendly! I had a few land on me and start to go to sleep (that's what it looked like at least). If there's one trip the US wouldn't want you to go on, it'd be a trip to Niagra Falls. I felt so ashamed of my country for not having anything as wonderful as Canada. AND to top it off they charge you 50 cents to WALK BACK TO THE US. Canada doesn't charge you for going over, but the US (one of the richest countries in the world) feels that they should charge you to walk across a lousy bridge from Canada to the States. You know what I say to that? SCREW YOU NEW YORK. Cheap-ass penny pinches who can't even clean up their own town.
