JOURNAL: Kireblue (Erik Norelus)

  • preping footage for IC 2011-03-10 20:45:24 Preparing for a IC is actually kinda annoying. Since I don't like editing with scripts while using Vegas, I'm saving my clips as AVI. But Im not even sure how many of them I will be able to edit in less than 2 hours. And doing this for 5 DVDs is really time consuming.

Anyway, I hope that my AMV doesn't end up sucking too much.
  • My first ever IC 2011-03-08 07:28:13 So yeah, I'm gonna compete in the AMV IC competition against xShurikenBladesx at Momocon, but I'm one of the slowest editors around. But the song that I picked is so amazing that I'm gonna try my absolute best to edit the entire thing in 2 hours. Also, the theme is "revenge", and the sources that I can pick from are (Full Metal Alchemist Vol 1, When they cry: Higurashi Vol 2, Chrono Crusade Vol 1, Nurse Witch Komugi Vol 2 and the mandatory secret ingredient Magical Witch Punie-chan vol 1)

    This is gonna be interesting.
  • A-M-V.org 2011 VCAs LIVE @ Momocon (3/13/11) 2011-03-06 09:49:49 Hey Everybody. For those of you that don't already know, my name is Erik Norelus {kireblue}, and I am the assistant director of Momocon's AMV department. This year, I will doing a LIVE broadcast of 2 (possibly 3) different AMV events that will happen on Sunday, March 13th (one of which is the A-M-V.org Viewers choice awards). Since the convention takes place 3 days after the scheduled announcement, I decided to officially schedule a 2hr programing block to showcase the winning videos and broadcast them via UStream. So if you want to see a live audience reaction to the winners, here is your chance.

You will be able to watch it LIVE (March 13 from 3:00 PM - 5:00 PM EDT) by clicking on the following link:

The other event that will be broadcast will be Momocon's 2nd Annual AMV Exhibition (March 13 from 11:30 AM - 2:30 PM EDT) which can also be watched LIVE. I'm also considering broadcasting the results of the AMV Arena / Iron Chef competition, but I haven't made a firm decision yet.

  • VCA semi-finals 2011-02-23 00:32:41 I was hoping that my "Make a Wish" AMV would have made it to the dramatic semi-finals, but a least my "Don't Feed the Teenagers" made it in the horror category :-)

On another note, I laughed when I saw Nostromo and Chiikaboom nominated for "Most helpful". I have nothing against either of them, but they post on the forums like once every 4-5 months....just sayin

And also, I feel that the "short video" category was a SUPER FAIL. Since the voting page didn't narrow the videos down by length, it was really hard to nominate a long list of videos. And thus, it seems that everybody picked the same four AMVs. If the category comes back again next year, it would be awesome if our choices could be limited to only the videos that meet the length requirement.
  • VCA voting is almost like......work! 2011-02-14 15:03:37 Even though I have hundreds of AMVs sorted by the year they were created and their genre, its still so time consuming to search through the folders and vote for my favorites. I haven't even started voting on the Action, Dramatic or Character Profile category yet.

Anyway, Don't forget to vote "Don't Feed the Teenagers" for best horror and "Make a Wish" for Best Dramatic (There's no shame in shameless advertising.....that's why they call it shameless......just sayin)
