BGD v.2 Days 3, 4, and 5
2006-12-31 04:11:15
In the last three days I've edited the final minute or so of the video, and I can say that I'm "done" with it. Right now it's just going through the beta phase, and I hope to have it uploaded sometime tomorrow, preferrably before I go to work. Just been some really long nights this week, trying to get this thing finished. Hopefully it turns out alright.
Check out Aesling's new video, it's full of good stuff :o

BGD v.2 Day 2
2006-12-28 05:23:22
Today was productive, not quite as much as yesterday, but nevertheless I still got plenty done. To be a bit more accurate, I put another 45 seconds or so on the timeline, and I'm happy with what's on there. I'm still surprised at how quickly this is going, I mean I only have the two choruses left and some tweaking before I get into the full-on nitpick phase. I'm sure it helps that I cut down the song quite a bit, but the lull in the middle of the song would kill the pacing of the amv, so I pretty much had to take it out. Anyways, I hope to have a beta out in a couple days, and have this thing uploaded by Sunday. I work tomorrow, but I hate being on the computer during the day anyways so that works out. I'm going to bed two hours earlier than I did yesterday, with hopes of having more energy when I go at this again tomorrow night. Last night I had trouble falling asleep, because I was seriously so hyper from making the video. I think this is what being editor is all about...
Just having fun :)

BGD v.2 Day 1
2006-12-27 06:55:33
Well so I got home from Ohio today, and all the thinking I had been doing really paid off. I have the first 1:20 on the timeline and I'm pretty much in shock because I've never edited something that quickly before. I'm just having a ton of fun with this video, even though it's kind of harsh and angry. The video is opposite from Teal Nom in almost every aspect, especially in terms of synch and pacing. Well I hope this turns out alright, but even if it sucks, I can say that I had a lot of fun doing it, at least so far.
I think I said something like a month or two ago that I wanted to finish up two vids by the end of the year. One's already done (Teal Nom), but this...this just may be the second. People tend to think, myself included, that the more time spent on a video, the better it will turn out. After seeing Prodigi and AtomX's Origins videos, I was inspired to make a video not only because they were awesome vids, but because they were edited so quickly. Those vids went against my usual thinking.
I'm trying some different stuff with this one, so we'll see how it turns out.

Merry Christmas!
So I'm still in Ohio, and I've been doing amv planning and such in my head the whole time. I decided that I'm going to switch songs for the video. This thought has been in the back of my head since I started the project. What I originally wanted to edit had to be tweaked to go with the original song, and after some debating, I've come to the decision that I'd go with a song that works more for what I initially had in mind. I just wanted to do something that was fast, harsh, and angry, and the other song/concept was just too mellow. During the trip, I decided to listen to the rest of the CD that my first song was on (since I hadn't before) and realized that another track would work much, much better. Like I said, I've been doing a lot of brainstorming, and things are becoming more and more solid with this video. I know I haven't edited anything yet, but hopefully this turns out the way I'm imagining it.
I still want to see just how quickly I can edit this video. I know with more planning that editing will be smoother and faster. I'm going to go krazy editing when I get home.
This is going to be fun >:D
