katsucon video is finished.
however, the extended version that won't be used for the competition is now in the works. because it uses a different version of the song, all 74 cuts have to be individually retimed, and the introduction sequence AND the the ending sequence as well have to be worked out.
yes, i'm crazy for undertaking this.
i'm estimating that the retiming of the main video will be done in a few days. ending is not very much to do, opening will be a pain in the ass to do properly.
what sucks is that i'm talking about all of this, and no one has a clue what the video is and won't get to until february.
but i will say that it's looking very cool, and is VERY appropriate for this year's theme. -

Katsu vid's had some minor tweaks to the contest edition, expect work on the director's cut to begin soon.
Footage for my side project for what con has been found, am getting it tomorrow, will start work this weekend on it. ETA: 2 weeks. It's only 30 seconds anyways.

why the fuck does everything i work on end up getting pulled away from me at the end?
take this screening tonight for example. we're showing blue gender, and after going nuts for 4 weeks i finally got ahold of a genlock to use for the showing so we could watch my LD. however, as we asked for screening permission, we got sent a preview tape of the new dub.
this is a cool thing.
but i feel like an idiot now, because here i was working my ass off to get everything taken care of, and now no one cares because we have the holy fucking dub.
yes this is selfish.

this was supposed to be my fucking event, but now it doesn't even matter. i don't feel like even going anymore, which is stupid of me. still, nothing horrid would happen if i didn't go, it's not like they NEED any of my stuff, it'd just throw off the schedule.
it would also look bad and be horribly irresponsible.

homework. lots of homework. always working....well not really. slacking too.
i've been planning a hugeass screening for friday nite for my school's anime club and everything's in place. finally. i'll be damn glad when this is over and i can get home at a decent time on wednesday nights.
i'm almost at the point with the current video where i'm ready to make final tweaks....not QUITE ready to call it a rough cut yet....but I do want to end this project soon. I've been working on it for a couple months now and I'm really getting ready to just finish this, take some time off of making AMV's for a while, catch up on doing reviewing, and then start a quickie project. If I can get the source in time, it may even be done in time for what con. That is, if I can get the footage together...hope so. shouldn't be THAT hard.
