  • can't fall asleep.... 2001-11-26 02:21:13 this sucks. it's 2AM, i have class in the morning, i went to bed two hours ago and all i've done is toss and turn over and over and over again. it's odd, i've got thoughts in my mind, but none of them are particularly important - mostly potential ideas for a fanfic i will never write (or if i do write it it's one i'll never share)...that and other trivial crap, a few anime thoughts, etc.

    one would think i'd be fretting over money, grades, the paper i have 15 left to work on, and all those sorts of things.

    well, my prereg for katsucon cleared. i noticed the check did at the ATM today, and katsu finally updated their site for the first time in three weeks with the current prereg list...pity there's no actual content anywhere on the site still for things that matter (programming, amv info,
    etc.)

    and so i'm sitting at the computer. i yawn, feel slightly drowzy, but i know i won't be going to bed anytime soon. i probably shouldn't have had an actual dinner after TAS tonite...eating at 8pm when you're going to bed at 12 isn't such a great idea after all.

    and still, after all this crap that's been going on, the katsucon chair still has not replied about what's up with the AMV contest, what about the other potential AMV events (panel, the surprise thing, etc.) and it's driving me kinda nuts. lucky for me a friend who's on katsustaff just popped online. mebbe this will help to answer some questions...

    i also joined the harry potter for grownups list this weekend. fascinating list, lots of traffic, but not helping me get to sleep (and hopefully not keeping me awake either.)

    it's sad how coherent of an email i can put together at 2:30AM when emailing the katsucon co-chair for info on the stuff we're trying to get together AMV-wise.

    *sigh* sleep is so far away and yet i want it to be so close. I know that I'm not in a good mental state to start a paper, maybe i should work on writing that fic.......

    nah. time to do one more quick look over the ML, and then off to bed again I shall go. maybe sleep will come this time (just in time to be zapped by my alarm.)

    tomorrow is not going to be a fun day. 
  • and so... 2001-11-24 16:09:48 got one paper done for german, 2 to go (a 12-sentence and the weekly 5-sentence journal)...still haven't finished my clausewitz for monday tho. every time i start reading it my mind drifts all over the place and i find it very hard to stay focused. this is bad.

    gotta work on my film paper too. 10 pages on anime and western religion. got like 2 weeks to work on it now, so i'd better get off my ass and start hacking stuff out.

    i'm just so damn lazy that it's not even funny. 
  • and another long day draws to a close.... 2001-11-23 01:15:04 got very little work done today. well, sorta.

    read maus for history, but i gotta tackle 50 pages of clausewitz by monday, more like 130 - there's a 100+ page section we have to read for wednesday as well as 80 of those from monday (trying to get a bit ahead)...also got 2 1-page papers to write for german.

    guess what i'm doing tomorrow? +)

    dinner came out OK...the peanut butter sauce recipe my friend sean gave me didn't quite do it, but i won't mind eating the leftovers for the next 2-3 days. i got plenty of leftover rice as well to use up now.

    EK, your cake recipe was great. i didn't add the pecans (didn't have any and not a huge nut fan in my baked goods) and the german chocolate didn't really get shredded, in fact i tried to grate it and chop it but being the college bachelor that i am, it didn't go well, so i just kinda broke it into chunks and threw it in. it turned out really cool tho, there were pockets of chocolate all over.

    i want a food processor now tho.

    oyeah, the katsu video is, for all intents and purposes, done. at least the true version is. i gotta make a couple hacks/tweaks to make the short version for the contest itself. now if only i could dv export ok...ah well, that's what sleeping is for - it keeps you off of the computer while exporting =)

  • happy kill the natives day... 2001-11-22 00:31:42 cooking for my sister and one of her friends tomorrow. well, we're both cooking...

    running tapes for a friend in germany right now and hoping that the weight of the 2 vcr's don't do damage to my LD player (which they are stacked on 'cuz the cables won't reach the computer i watch them on won't reach otherwise)

    i have roommates this weekend. so much for peace and quiet. i gotta do 2 papers for german, one page each, read like 50-100 pages of clausewitz (if not more, gotta get ahead since there's a 300 page assignment due next wednesday taht's officially assigned next monday) and start writing the religion in anime paper.

    if the katsu vid flies with the 2 or 3 people who will function as critics at the moment i have chosen it'll be officially done and ready to send to the con. then i'll start the vid i'm making to show at the panel (it's only 45 sec and while i'd like to use trigun for it, it'll wind up being bebop since that's what's available....still works tho.)

    all in all, i'm too damn busy.
