I sent my application forms off to Austria today. I just hope that they don't get held up by customs - I found out *after* I got home that you're apparently not supposed to send bank drafts and such via EMS. Ah well, I've got the tracking number, shouldn't be too hard to watch get through.
And I've got the German Nadia and Doremi OPs now =)

The new Funimation dub for Secret (Legend) of the Twilight Gemini.
It was sad when we could play "name their dbz character...."

Final midterm exam today, nazi europe at 2PM. i've barely studied, but I almost wonder what I should really look at. I've kept up to date with my readings and I've gone to class (even if I have been so bored that I start dozing) every time, and I flipped through my notes and handouts last night. I may flip through one or two of the shorter readings before I leave, but that'll be about it.
Spring break is coming. Thank goodness. I'll be running lots of tapes for people and doing a ton of research, writing, and some other work. And sleeping late and staying up late at least a couple days.
In some personal life news, my roommate is again an idiot. He ran off with someone's keys or something last time he visited them and they called at 7:30 to wake him up and get them back, so while he was out his alarm went off.
It didn't turn off, but it did keep me somewhat awake. Me, being in semi-sleep mode after the phone call didn't realize that he had already left to go run whatever to whoever. When I finally heard his damn clock say it was 8:30 I got up and fwammed my hand on whatever buttons I could find first and went back to bed.
At 8:45 it went off again. I got up, for good this time, and just hit the damn thing about 15 times. I then knocked on the bathroom door to see if it was empty and lo and behold, roommate is in there. After promptly telling him off for his shitty alarm and motherfucking news radio waking me up an hour early I used the other bathroom and got ready for class.
Some good stuff happened last night though. Saw the new Lupin dub and was able to write down on funimation's survey form EXACTLY what I thought of it (stick to the sub, guys) and we had a pretty successful dubbing meeting.
I've also got about 2/3 of the current AMV roughly laid out. It'll have some scene changes and a ton of tweaks but it's starting to take some form.
Oh, got a B+ on the hated Burke and Paine-in-the-ass paper. Not great, but it's passable. I get to do more norse after I get home from my midterm this afternoon. Haven't even started this week's French Revolution readings. I really SHOULD get to work on those. I should also start my research paper - the oh fuck feeling that it's due in a month is starting to hit me and it's not very comforting. It's not entirely HARD to write a 10-12 page paper on napoleon, it's just doing the reading, etc. that takes so long.
With that all being said, it's time for me to put my lunch in the oven and do some reading on SOMETHING, probably more test prep.

Wow.

I got an email from someone with condolonces and a lot of useful advice. I really didn't expect this. I'm used to just ranting and thinking someone will click the journal and say "that's nice" and then look at EK's new art (which I highly recommend.)
So some good news:
First, I got half of LoGH 51 timed tonight, which includes one of the cutest marriage proposals ever and everyone's favorite bitchboy getting drunk and frustrated over it. This is one of the two episodes that got dubbed to be shown at conventions (which I've had the luck of seeing twice) and is still great the third time through. The timing was remarkably painless and went very smoothly despite eric coming home and putting his groceries away in the middle of it.
Secondly, I'm prepped for the French Revolution exam tomorrow. Read through my notes, could pick out everyone on the ID potentials, and can BS the essay no problem.
Third, I finished reading 4 for Norse. I'll try to do 5 over the weekend once I've had a nice little chat with the professor and see what kind of semantics he tries to pull if I ask a straightforward question - if it's that bad after a minor confrontation I'll walk. Otherwise I'll stick it out. I'm such an overachiever - a B is simply not good enough for anything, I want that 3.5 to be pure =)
Fourth, I got a draft of my German essay due early which means I'll get it looked over and revised for when it's really due Monday.
Fifth, responsibility for my bibliography is now on the writing professor's hands - it's hard to write one with 5-7 sources when the only publication date for your needed book is a date and a search of 5000 journals turned up nothing on 3-2-1 contact other than a brief mention in a parenting journal for african-american parents. If I'm being too specific in my search (for "3-2-1 contact") he can tell me so in my email.
Sixth, reaction to the early tests for the Otakon video are positive. VERY positive. This is the video that could make me want to forget my grades and do nothing but edit into perfection. I may finally be onto something with this vid. As I type this, "believe" by The Brilliant Green came into the playlist. It's songs like this that give me hope for the world.
And I sadly can't come up with a final quote...there's 3 in my head right now.
"Listening to you, I get the music. Gazing at you, I get the heat. Following you, I climb the mountain. I get excitement at your feet."--The Who's Tommy (there is NOTHING like seeing this show live...and if you can't see it live, ask me how to get a good bootleg, so much ENERGY!)
"Es gibt nur, was du nicht verlangst, und wer nicht liebt, der lebt in Angst. Kein Tränenmeer wäscht Berge weich, niemals oder gleich."--RENT (I'm a total sucker for the German cast and translation.)
and finally...
"The tick tick booms in my head are starting to fade...."--tick, tick...BOOM! (at least for now.)
