  • Good Luck 2004-07-07 01:49:01 グッドラック!!
    I just finished watching good luck, with KimuTaku and my new obession.. Kou Shibasaki!! I think im slowly moving away from anime and into asian tv drama series. Its all good though, japanese dramas are good, i like them. I think when i go there the only thing ill be doing is watching tv everday. soo much stuff i want to watch when i get there. i think by the time i finally go, everything i want to watch will be off the air :(
    anyways last semester i did pretty bad so my gpa took a dump.. but this summer im currently retaking a class i failed so my gpa should go up, and this next semester im going to work hard and get all A's. hopefully that will get my gpa high enough to let me go study abroad with my university. I really want to go because i get to live in a dorm for the weekdays and do a homestay on the weekends if i want. plus ill be in another country and have to speak japanese...uhhh i soo wanna go right now.

    anyways take a break from anime and go watch goodluck, i gurantee you will like it, if not, then you suck.. its got Kou Shibasaki and Rina Uchiyama in it.. soo its all good, rina is really great, i liked her in SOS(strawberry on the shortcake) good stuff...

  • AKON 2004-06-19 05:10:38 Hello there..
    I went to my frist anime convention the other weekend.. I went to AKON
    there were only 2 reasons i went. well maybe 3.. 1. DoAsInfinity.. 2. Nami Tamaki.. and 3. Do as infinity..
    I read about do as infinity perfroming in new york on their main site, and read something about texas, so i looked it up and found akon..
    akon was kinda fun, but the damn lines to get into the little room for the concerts were out of control. I was afraid i wasnt going to make it in to the concerts. i made it in and got a good view of van tomiko. good stuff
    anyways i saw pyscho le cemu.. i downloaded 1 of there songs like 3 years ago and thought they were crazy bec the song was crazy (Trap zone) there concert was pretty cool.. nami on the other hand, she only performed for like 20min, i think she only did 4 or 5 songs.. damnit that sucks.. she should have been on longer.. she is 100x better than cosplaying..
    i got a cd signed by nami and got to say a few things to her in japanese, im glad i could speak a little before this con.. i also told pyscho their concert was omshiroi...anyways
    the worst part of all.. i didnt get anything from DAI, they were signing from 11-12, i woke up at 11, and on my way out of my hotel (i stayed in holiday inn, 1/2block away) the 200yr old elevator broke down, and i was stuck in it for like 15min, some stupid girl kept putting her hand out to keep the door open for her friend who never came in the elevator. she broke it. I got in line for dai's signing and they cut me off.. 2 people ahead of me they cut the line off.. damnit!!
    but the anime stuff of the con.. hmm i guess it was ok, the dealers room kinda sucked, everything cost wayy too much.. it was fun seeing all the cosplayers from naruto..i think naruto had the most...
    i did get to see a little bit of moonchild, it was an ok movie.. my friend said it got really good at the end.. anyways
    i wouldnt go next year unless they had more jpop bands again, jpop was the only reason for me going to this con..

    I have 1 week left of school, this week I have my finals so I really need to study.
    A lot of things have been going on. Every thursday evening I go to a conversation club and speak with lots of people from around the world studying english here. Ive meet a lot of korean and japanese people.
    I met a girl named Mika, and we study japanese together.

    A few weeks ago I was in a speach contest, didnt win anything but it was fun. I am finally living in my own apartment now. I got cable tv and internet. Now I need to get a job. I should have one in a month or so.

    This summer is going to be fun, I am going to A-Kon to see Do As Infinity, and Nami Tamaki.!!~
    I cant wait to go..the concerts are going to be so fun. They are the only reason im going. I will check out the AMV contest though.. i think they have one there.
    Speaking of amv's i havnt touched one in over a year... sigh...

  • East Current 2004-03-24 01:45:27 Hey there again
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Tonight I saw something really cool, I went to a concert performed by 2 japanese artists called East Current. They play japanese traditional music using a Koto and Shakuhachi (like a flute). They also mix in current day music, it was cool stuff. Mieko Miyazaki plays the koto and she is totally cute. Dozan Fujiwara plays the shakuhaci and he sounded good with it. ehhh uhh after watching them perfrom for 2 hours, we were all invited to a ball room to meet them and we got to talk with them. It was an event hosted by my school, but no college students were there at all. My freind and I were the only 2 there under 45yrs old =D
    In the ballroom they were serving alochol to everyone and my friend drank a lot of red wine and got drunk, i didnt drink any because i wanted to try out my japanese with all the japanese people who where there. I did talk japanese with the koto player Mieko, it was kinda fun, i think i sounded stupid though trying my japanese. She understood a lot of english so that was fun, we didnt talk much though. Then i talked to another guy, he was the producer for them and we talked about jobs and japan and workin and everything. He said he was really glad that I went becuase not a lot of people like the old traditionl japanese music, only older people like it. I thought it was lots of fun and then also added new day type of sounds with the old music they play. Its kinda of a new thing thats going on in japan i guess. It was fun talking to the producer, i think producing anything would be a really fun job, he said it was kinda hard and really really stressful. They told me I could buy a cd online so im gonna go to amazon and buy a cd, i think its about $50.
    anyways it was such a cool event, i had lots of fun. I cant wait untill i go to japan and able to speak japanese fluently. uh man, i had such a fun time tonight, i wish i could do something else like that soon. I was also talking to their translator and he said he only lived there for 4yrs and only studied japanese in college for 1 year. he says if you can translate and good at it, there are lots of jobs for it, so maybe after i can speak it i should try doing that out. when i go to japan, i want to translate anime or tv or something just for myself and to practice japanese/english.. i think itd be lots of fun.
    well that was a lot of typing for me, this is the only online journal i have, i use to write in a notebook everynight about a year ago, but ive stopped doing that, it takes so long to write words out, its so much easier to type. electricity all the way! well i was going to do some homework but i forgot my bag in my friends car so i need to figure out how the heck im gonna get my bag before classes tomorrow >_<
    if you acutally read this much, then im pretty impressed that you actually cared wahts going on with meh.
