JOURNAL: OmniStrata (Joseph Aguila)

  • 5000 HITS! 2002-09-08 23:32:42 SHOLLY SSSSHHHITTT!!!

5000 hits in my journal! Just how many people know me around here exactly? Or even care what I write!? Let's see, it's been barely a year so that's on average:

    5000/365 around 13-15 hits a day!

    yowza...

I've got around 1 minute of the North American MAD test and I've got to upload it to Zarxrax for some tweaking...

As of now, it's looking about Average as a MAD (meaning in my opinion looks better than any amvs I've made thus far...) ^_^

The thing is I need to break some "limits" per se in terms of fx execution. I still haven't gotten into After FX yet, but I'm hoping Zarxrax can throw me some hints... This is by far the worst time for me to be editing a MAD of all things... AClontz, I hope you've got some stuff you can fill in, like, THE REST OF THE VIDEO! ^_^

Some of the more extravagant effects have been utilized in it with Revelation Break as a must. (Yes, it's in my Chobits video too but it's been modified for this MAD into something MUCH trickier...)

And the one thing holding me back... CANNED TRANSITIONS! All the "training" I've gone through in making AMVs has stopped me from utilizing one of the MADs greatest potentials for special fx. MUST BREAK HABIT NOW!!! [mind snaps...]

I've got a story line planned but I'm unsure if we can pull this off. I was hoping Onegai can throw in some input on this as well as Zarxrax. Though the whole thing was Zarxrax's idea, I say thanks to you for both that AND the footage pics I needed. My, Kanon the h-game has quite a lot to work with don't it? 0_0
  • Frenzy that is my mind... 2002-09-08 11:24:21 Ok, I'm now in a random confusion phase in my AMV Career...

There's no way in hell I'm retiring yet, ^_^ but I'm not sure what to do next! :?

There's work, there's school, there's study time/homework, there's saving money for the newest anime hopping up, there's finding time to watch anime AFTER homework is done without collapsing from sleep, there's downloading now DVD ripped digisubs from MIRC, there's finding new series WHILE studying for later classes, ARGH THE HUMANITY!!!!

Either way, my Chobits video I must say in my opinion is rather "toned down" when compared to my "Feel the Rhythm" series. Hell, any of my future works probably won't feel like the FtR series! 0_0 I'm now bending toward drama videos. Problem is finding a slow/beautiful song that's not already TAKEN!

My hope, "Pure Snow" by Yuko Sasaki.
Anime, either Kanon or Inu Yasha (probably Kanon since Vengeance is wreaking havoc as of now... ^_^)

    Title, "Legend"...

    Of course, testing of my MAD prowess is mixed in here too somehow... ;_;
  • Boom Boom Gals.. 2002-09-07 23:00:29 Boom Boom Gals is quite a cool video. I wish I had more time to work on my "hiatus" video but hey, it's now time to study and do weekend edits!

    :(

    MAD MAD MAD...

    OH someone help me!

    ^_^
  • How Nostalgic... 2002-09-06 13:46:31 Now that I've stopped editing for a tiny bit, I go back and review the new vids and read up on the old ones...

I watch my old videos (Deleted my 1st 4 but oddly enough, people are still passing them out in KaZaa and such...)

I go back and read ALL of Odorikuruu's Opinions and take pride in the fact that I can spell the damn thing without too much trouble. People are entitled to their opinion but one has to admit this video probably affected more people than any other anime music video to date. Every individual opinion I've seen for this video is truely shocking.

Then I watched that which is unsurpassable thus far...

Yes, the MADs... I have a nice collection of them. Rounding around 50+ or so... Most of them utilize the "Still-picture" After FX technique known as Shueishiga MADs. It's not a surprise to see rolling credits of like 15+ people who contribute to making only ONE! I don't see how one person alone can create some of these masterpieces.

Some people will most definitely say they are "useless eye candy". Those people are jealous that they can't make one themselves. :P The MADs (if you can follow the lyrics) tell stories from time to time. I haven't played the game "Kanon" but I've seen its anime and some of the songs fit the anime very well. To date, my favorite MADs are the ones listed on my profile. ^_^ Though "Final Symphony" is starting to grow on me and I've slapped it into the proxy. I think...

Well, I'm off again to class. I love having a broadband connection from my college. Gives me footage to download between classes...

Oh yes, one more thing: GET AI YORI AOSHI! YOU MUST SEE THIS ANIME NOW!!!

Of course, it resembles a love crossing between Tenchi and Love Hina and like every other Tenchi Syndromed anime to date. The ecchi fun factor is quite high and I only saw episode 9!!!!! ^_^ Most definitely I'll use footage from this and the capture for the digisubs I have are of Onegai Teacher and Read or Die quality. Yes, DVD rips. Maybe I'll never get a DVD ROM. Using unlicensed anime is a great way to hype it up to the masses in my book. ^_^

Some questions though: About the Seiyuus. Can anyone confirm these?

Kaoru: sounds EXACTLY like Kei Kusanagi from my #1 anime "Onegai Teacher"
Aoi: sounds EXACTLY like Yui Horie of Naru Narusegawa (Love Hina) fame.
The purple secratary: sounds EXACTLY like Konnai from Hanukyo Maids. Complete with viscious dominatrix attitude!!!
Tina: sounds like Kagome from Inu Yasha. Though I need to hear her pout more to be certain. ^_^
I'm not sure but there's quite a smattering of "familiar voices" in this anime. Can any of you tell me a bit more on this? I'll probably slap a HUGE "Omni Strata Anime Quick Pick" into the forums when I watch more of this. Like from episode one... ^_^
  • Heh... 2002-09-06 09:46:23 I'm not scared you'd screw them up Digi...

    :P

I'm scared that these videos will be more than I'm expecting...
