The degeneration of anime and AMVs and media in general

Had a nice long talk with Zarxrax regarding lots of stuff but in general, the 'degeneration' of anime and amvs at large.
According to him, 99% of entertainment media [including anime, american tv, etc.] is crap *as in, nobody cares*. I should post about this in the forums, see what you people think. [and hopefully dodge flames and scathing ignorant remarks in the process]
Weekend was good, finishing up some homework and getting some last minute comp work done [connecting wife's usb outputs if she'd let me open the darn case]
On the editing front, nothing done, which is fine. Having no deadlines = freedom! ^_^
I'll admit, a part of me edits for fame. [I mean seriously, if I edited only for myself, I'd never ask for ops or post my embarrassing edits here] Fame brings ridicule, pain, suffering but also growth. People who are known HAVE to improve vs. the 'normal' people. You think rich people don't get famous? Maybe not on camera but you can be sure their acquaintances know of and work with them on a different level than 'normals'.

I also edit for opinions. I honestly believe the number of 'free' ops you receive [as in no trades needed] is a very good mark of skill and ability. Now I know a lot of you will shout saying: WHAT ABOUT those guys who make multiple accounts to pump their vids? Ok: point to me the one who wrote Euphoria 1000+ ops using 1000+ accounts. Show me this ONE person... It's obviously not Koop. And he didn't even go on an 'advertising campaign'. In his eternal modesty he just posted a single thread in vid announcements saying "here's my vid" and that's it. Though my one gripe about the guy is that he ignores me every time I see him at conventions. I think he's behaving like an elitist or I'm not in his face enough. [I'm voting for the latter, he's still a nice person, he's probably just too busy to notice my noob ass :(]

And eternal blessings for those who took time to write [as in REALLY write a good detailed opinion] opinions for me. I don't think I'd have made it THIS far if at all without people acknowledging my work. To me, this is an art and an artist who's unknown and oblivious is only pumping his own ego thinking only his way is the 'right way' and that nobody can disagree. I have no respect or character for people who think this way which is why I always ask for opinions on ways to improve, thank you all amv.org
I'm on the edge of just retiring now. What to do? :( -

Aside from nearly turning an idiotic pedestrian into street pizza [he hobbled onto the street as if drunk or something...] I've had a good May.
Stock shot up [playing with real money is more fun than 'papermoney'], good at work, showed up late today but no biggie. Got easy test coming up in MKTG class. Kwon Ho and Trickster online gaming is owning me. Wife is more upbeat than before, the list of good stuff keeps going, got new anime [haruhi on DVD for the sex0rs], etc.
Only 'fluke' I should say is I accidentally bought Bastard Manga vol. 12 when I REALLY needed 13. Must return it today or Saturday at latest. Minor setback [lol]
