With such an EXTREME analysis on the new Ghost in the Shell TV series, I must say I am impressed. You, like many others here ^_^, have WWAAAYYYY too much time on your hands.
Though I must disagree with one thing you said. I'm certain that the TV Series simply couldn't put out as much "blatant" nudity as the Movie did. I happen to like the TV Motoko design better than the TV version. In all honesty, which one gave out more "skin for pound" fanservice? TV vs. Movie? I rest my case...
The other techno-babble information however is quite good. You scare me...
For some reason, the tv series feels like each episode (damnit, I only saw 2 of them!) is a mini - movie! Perhaps it's just the way things flowed. The "shosa" way the Tachikoma's cheer is also quite good. These mecha now have my "award" as most adorable mofo robots around!!! "yay yay! That's our major! ^_^" Gotta love those little guys. I want one! Complete with a Major Kusanagi tucked in back...
In all seriousness now, I'm still unsure about the NES Project. I just signed on now, am still at school, got a bummed out partial credit test rape on my hands, and now have 2 more weeks for my NEXT test! I'm hoping for the Crystal Rave mix to be waiting for me...
Let see, CEMM 260, Math 210, ChE 210, and CHEM 342. Yes, I'm doing "fine" in 3 except one of them.... Yes that's right PHYSICAL CHEMISTRY 342!!! [AAARRRGGGHHH!!!]

Just saw episode 2. My hunch was correct. Each episode is "disconnected" in a Ranma 1/2 sort of way...

A series of awesome animation and action of this high calibur and they pulled off each ep seamlessly as if each 30 mins viewing is it's own fucking theatrical release!
Perhaps I'm exaggerating, or not... ^_^ But this thing is just so damn good! The gag is, I wasn't expecting this GOOD of a production due to the fact that the theatrical release just didn't grab me as "super amazing"...
I can't wait to see episode 3 now!
What's more, if any of you have the FULL SOUNDTRACK size song files of Yoko Kanno's "Inner Universe", "Heaven's Dance", (I think that's the name of the combat bgm... ^_^) or "Lithium Flower", drop me a line. I'm also going for the guess that the Music during the eps is another reason that hooked me. (much like Noir, only GITSSAC has "remixed" versions of its main songs playing in a new style during each episode thus far...)

Also, just finished watching ep 3 of Mahoromatic II (Season 2 to be exact) HOT DAMN THERE'S A LOT OF FANSERVICE IN THIS TV SERIES! Just imagine each episode of Maid in Hanaukyo to be 25 mins instead of 10 and you have Mahoromatic Season 2!!! 0_0

Just finished watching the Ghost in the Shell Original Movie. I was right, the music and character design for the movie is inferior to the TV series. The TV series Motoko has much more "youthful" and vibrant look than her "mature" movie counterpart. That and she's more kick ass in the TV series in my opinion. Also, she's not the ONLY one to use Thermoptic Camoflouge in the tv series. ^_^ (Good thing nobody has to get naked. Her male teammates may end up like that had they followed the "movie" premise... ewww...)
