  • It's banner rant time (hopefully this time yes!) 2009-01-23 16:14:08 1) I updated my site, yay. All my banners which were fully voted upon available. Link somewhere below.

    2) My banners usually take me 15-20 minutes to make. Some are shorter, some longer (gifs anyone?). My witness is mirksop, who saw me make one live and can say how delicate I am about this matter O: (though that one was slightly harder for rebuild... done worse, though)

    3) Yes, I aim to be the Top Banner. There is a long way to Hinatasan, but that's what challenges are for! XD

    And even though I say this, if there was no "Top banner makers" chart, I'd still do them, as long as the site would list and present the Worthy ones. I just love the making, the browsing of the pics beforehand while waiting for idea and seeing the result on the page itself...

    4) That said, I try to get an idea to every and each of my banners. I have to admit that I have a few that foolow the "nice words + nice pic = awsmsauce" combo, but I still tryy to enrich them somehow. The question if i was succesfull is on you.

    That said, I still find it kind of funny that some of my best ideas were just simply refused and some of my whim-maked-banners-just-for-lulz were accepted with almost enthusiasm. I have a weird taste, it seems.

    5) wurpess/Camillia... yeah, I like her banners. TAbout hal of them is just too crazy for me (mainly because the fonts are usually more crazy than they ought to be - I am more of the "simple-strict" font lover), so I'd say my votes for her are half-half... but I think that's fair, I vote how I feel it...

    6) dero, how comes the main page always has some weird banner and side sites (vid descriptions, journals) have the better ones! I blame you! Fix it! :x

    7) About the voting in general - I try to weight everything. I even have to say that i slightly prefer ideas (about 55-45) over art. But if something fails, I just have to Unworthy it, however sad it makes me. I can but hope that the creator remakes it for better (or that s/he mentions it in Journal - I already wrote to some makers trying to help them out)

    8) Oh, come on! "A-M-V.org" is an awesome thing which just fits under the logo when you make it about the banner height (and slightly tilt the logo, hehehe).

    9) Is the strongest number!

    Nice Aeka banner, why did it fail "so" much? (71). Maybe orgers don't like silver hair? Moe characters? Weak women? Eroge (which Aeka is from, though I doubt large scale of people here knows that)? Dunno...

    The middle part originally wasn't there and took me about 30 minutes to rebuild to look good... The font could've been better, though, the lower one is especially bad in one of e's. I like the idea for the frame on this one (I like to add details like those, though nobody usually spots them).

    I really liked that motivator and just had to make this even though I knew it'd prolly fail - which did. The Naruto x Org combo just isn't possible... at the moment.

    Seems Org doesn't like lonely people and ideals. I still consider myself lonely, even when joining few MEPs and having my contact lists full of Org'ers. In solitude is my strength and so i will continue to support anyone and everyone who stands and creates alone~
