Semis of Rookie of the year pleased me. Thanks to everyone who liked anything from me.
Those aren't against expectations... much (I was hoping for Rookie of the Year semis at least, you know, so... success!), but...
No other semis, except Best First Video (which, from my today's point of view is soooo... BAD. Low-Res, bad quality, rough editing, too hidden outcome meaning, no big originality).
You know, I was aiming for Artistic or Originality semis mainly.
And I get AotO (simple effects throwing - however many might there be) and Just One Day (just scenes thrown together... honestly, that vid was just like an average vid to me) in Artistic? Don't people recognize artistic anymore? Where's Douggie?
And Original? Nostromo twice in there, with good, but so unoriginal videos? Hah! (though I admit this category has at least better picked up semifinalists).
Has anyone even thought about the names of the categories or did just everyone go through it, picked up a few green vids of his he liked and that was it?

Next year, I won't be eligible for RotY, so I have to try harder to make someone notice what is artistic and original. 3:30 of black screen / random scenes blinking to hig-pitched noise?
