JOURNAL: Second Element

  • Yu! 2005-10-08 06:06:25 Tonight/this morning at work my Relief Dealer ( the person who deals on your Poker/Black Jack table for you while you take your hourly break ) was none other than the very guy who inspired our video "How Many Stars".

Oh man, that was a whole wash of emotions all over again that I didn't want to deal with, after having been apart from him for so long and thinking I could possibly move on with my life. So how am I dealing with it? I just sat down and started making a new music video- once again inspired by him and our quiet love we never speak of.
  • 2005-10-06 15:02:55 Got at least one quick comment on the new video so far- thanks much to....ummm..anonymous ^_^x ( I still kind wish we could see who leaves these things ).
  • New Video now Available =D 2005-10-06 11:31:44 Okay, the video I've been refering to simply as the "Nightwish/Inu Yasha Action Vid", is formally titled "Heirloom", and is now available for download now ^_^x

Chris, you can start wetting your pants now. ( Robert's words- not mine!!! ^_~x )
  • Teh waiting 2005-10-06 09:32:27 Well, the absolute cleanest compression of the video ended up being 121 MB- which, as one knows...cannot be uploaded ^_^x So the tightest compression using 2 pass in XVID left us with a file just under 80 MB. I suppose I could make it smaller- but these videos are so gorgeous in their original Masters ( the original Master of the video is about 2.5 gigs ) that I hate smashing them in compressors, and losing the beautiful visual quality. Oh yes, I know of all these wonderful filters and post-production numbers, but let's face it, a 76 MB video isn't nearly as beautiful and crisp as it's 2.5 GIG original ^_~x Ah well.

Video is entered into the catalog...now just sitting here during the looooooonnnnnngggg wait while it uploads the Local server, and then I have to re-download it, make sure it looks okay...approve it...let it sit in the upload queue...and voila!!! Basically, it should be available in a few hours.

Wow- we weren't planning on releasing this video until December, a la "Ever Dream". But we are currently drowning in half-done AMV projects, so the sooner we can get one or two out, the better. I can finally clean the hard drive of this thing and focus on getting the ghost AMV done ( which was actually supposed to be released BEFORE this one. oh well. things change. ) as well as getting several other AMVs at least up to the 75% done mark.

After the ghost video is released, I honestly don't know if we'll be able to get anything else out until next year. I find it funny when people write in their video descriptions "Liek, OMG, this video took me 7 HOURS!!!" and here we are, releasing this video after 1 year and 3 months. Some of our projects ( like the "insane" one, which is slated for a *hopeful* release by Summer 2006 ) have been in production for 2 years or more. Hmmm..maybe we should seriously reconsider our pacing. But I guess quality over quantity. I'd rather take years perfecting and polishing a good AMV rather than spitting them out because I don't want to spend more than a week's worth of work on it- and then have the AMV be a piss-poor effort as a result.

I'm blah-blah-blahing. It's because I want this upload to finish- but it has me timed at about 2 hours to go yet O_ox
  • 2005-10-05 18:19:29 Premiere keeps crashing like there's no tomorrow. At this rate, I'll be lucky if I can even get a final export of this video O_ox
