  • @ Dranzerstorm 2011-04-25 20:58:29 Rock on, dude, rock on.

    Exactly what I say.
  • @ Aimo: 2011-04-25 00:08:58 Not really dub/sub war....

    More like pirate/buy war....

Which I don't even know why it should be a war to begin with.

Like it, buy it. Simple. =/
  • @ Jen 2011-04-24 19:03:12 While it is true they are supporting an English release, they are also hurting potential English releases by not supporting a show that is not popular enough to warrant a dub.

Bandai has been putting sub-only release for alot of their new releases due to most of the shows they get not being popular enough for a dub, however, still popular enough to warrant a sub-only DVD release. If people of the said show love the show, they should support it no matter what is done with it due to the fact it was them who wanted a DVD release to begin with...

If no one buys the sub-only release, Bandai won't have that extra money to put it into dubbing another show, and they lose money for putting out the said release that people wanted in the first place.

All other companies besides Funimation do not have the money to dub everything they license, but at least they are still licensing stuff and fans who won't support the company by not buying the title they wanted only hurts them in the long run. America is getting the best deal, cheap complete anime for 50-100 dollars, subtitled (or dubbed in english) with tons of extras like creditless stuff, interviews, ect. Japanese boxsets only give the creditless stuff if you preorder for over 300 bucks...

That is what I mean by fans being petty. They have anime handed to them on a silver platter and they still isn't "good enough" for them.
  • Today's fans sadden me... 2011-04-24 12:55:07 Fans need to stop being so downright petty.

"No dub, no buy" "No bluray, no buy" "No lossless audio, no buy" "No anything, no buy" "Show sucks cuz I seen it for free, no buy"

No one seems to be happy anymore that they're actually getting DVDs out there. Maybe all anime companies should just put their stuff on Itunes from now on cuz fans arent buying anything or are too PETTY to buy it. Actually, they should just go out of business and no one would care from the looks of it. They should go import Japanese DVDs, because No-sub 2 ep discs for 50-70 bucks is a HECK of alot better than subtitled 7 episodes discs for 40-50 bucks. <_<

If having a dub really was the deal breaker for anime, Sentai would be out of business, Geneon and ADV would still be alive and Bandai would still be dubbing, simple as that. But it isn't, it's the other way around. You get what you pay for.

Personally, I think dubbed DVDs should range more to about 100 dollars per half seasons and 50 for subbed. Because the fans who actually buy it even at that price would be showing they really want a dub instead of complaining all the time.

It should be DVD release = INSTANT BUY.

I wouldn't be surprised if we stop getting DVDs or blurays in the near future...so much for the industry.
