  • Baffling! 2004-05-15 19:54:55 Yes indeed, I'm continually baffled at human behaviour in our good old normal-abnormal world that, sadly, leans to abnormal more often than I'd like it to.

    Or I'm just being naive.

    Well, I pay the price for going against good advice: <i>Humour is not permissible</i>. Wise words, perhaps I should have adopted this as yet another principle.

    But what really baffles me is the utter ignorance to good intentions followed directly by tossing aside reasonable clarifications to those intentions, followed again by a blatant reversal and re-interpretation of those intentions which were repeatedly explained as nothing except good.

    I am being naive. There are a number of exceptional circumstances where I fail to excercise goodwill, and the blame lies on me. But these are regrettable exceptions and by no means the norm.

    The person engaged in the attempted 'argument' against me, apparenty takes failure to excercise goodwill for a rule and, by assuming the normality of this, projects this mode of behaviour of onto the norm of others. Thus, while I attempt to make good my ambiguous comment, what do I get?

    "Hate hate hate!!!"

    Beautiful! I'd forgotten all about hate.

    To whom it may concern, and I'm not certain you'll read it:

    Hate is an abnormal, abominable and sadly misguided form of behaviour. I have sympathies for you who have to live with it.

    But do not, for your own and everyone else's sake, even if you must project your own insecurity into hate, assume that others excercise this abnormal mode of behaviour as well.

    Let me say this to you: I can, without the slightest reservation, say that I'm entirely free of hate. There's nothing I hate. There's nothing I should hate or have any reason to hate. And this exchange we've had does nothing to change that.

    However, this isn't the first time this situation has happened, and the same reaction, filled with this hate, was received.

    To me, this is suggestive as to the quality of the person. Regrettably so.

    Now, on to other ideas - but it'll take some re-kindiling of the creative spirit before I proceed.

    Oh well. So long as it's all just temporary...
