JOURNAL: TekkaRepliroid Zero (D(ragon) - Boy)

  • Framed 2001-10-28 10:22:15 The frustrations of tight fit editing, now I know what some creators have been talking about. The X5 Opening sequence is messy to work with, no wonder I'm the first to use it. I find 2 frames after I'd taken the video home with me after finishing it at my friend's place. Luckily, he'll help fix it ^_^. But ugh, how do they get by me!?!? *L*.
The vid has turned out good, and like any vid, last minute changes were made. Partly due to the fact that we couldn't get some scenes from X5 because of the fucking mod protect (we're working from an Import, so we need both a moded psx and a game shark, but the game shark had been lent to someone). This turned out to be unnecessary after the changes were made, we had more footage of the adjacent clips than we were aware of, so they wouldn't have fit anyways =P. Irony, gotta love it.
Other changes involved throwing in replacement scenes because one was a frame or three too short >.<. And then some others came up out of forced experimentation.
    Conclusion: Premiere is a bitch.
    Gimme a Mac =P.

The vid is entered, but is not DL-able :(.
  • AMV 4: Rockman X 2001-10-24 20:47:17 The Rockman X AMV that has been no real secret (although aspects of the video other than the anime used have been hush hush ^^), has commenced, as planned, during reading week. Destiny-Boy's re-edit isn't happening anytime soon though, which is unfortunate, as I REALLY want to get that video out there.
The Rockman X video is going back to the roots of the Miyu the Shinma Slayer video in which I go with the fun factor of the concept. I'm really enjoying seeing the video take shape. I wonder if I get a greater kick out of it compared to other creators since I don't get to do this as often as the other creators. ^^ It's my baby *L*. I'm too hyped over it... this is bad for my ego. There's not much of a story to it, think of it as an anime intro. The way the video ends makes that direction rather obvious. But it's point is fun, and the concept rides really well, I think.
As I write this, the video is about one third complete, sitting on a friend's computer (yes, I still don't have my own equipment =P). The process is painless so far with the exception of two small scenes we wanted out of X5 but couldn't access because of a missing Game Shark and Mod Protect (we need "The-Fuck-You-Sony-Code"). Next time then.
I don't have a clue when this is going to be released, but I am hoping to participate in the Mind Warp Entertainment contest with this... although that's a long shot =P. Bah, let them decide.
  • Letting ideas sit and rot has a plus side 2001-10-02 09:28:24 As I walked to school, I was reflecting on an older AMV script that has been lying around for a year or so. I thought about what I've seen here, and what I've picked up and learned, sorta (it's not that simple, but still). So, from my experiences, I've gotten a much better revision of the script, which I had to jot down during class *L*. This isn't the first vid, but the second, to have this done to it, but this is the first to have somewhat radical changes to it. It's essence is the same, but its delivery, especially in the middle, is different, with more impact.
This is like proof that this place does allow AMV creators to help each other (though it may be direct or indirect). Makes ya feel all warm and fuzzy ^_^.
  • Erk, can't...carry...it all... 2001-09-30 14:49:01 I don't use this much... but of course, I don't make vids constantly like most creators. My situation in life makes being an AMV creator frustrating, and there's nothing I can do about for a couple of months at the earliest, because I'm a college student. Unless my taking a leap of faith actually works, which I'm not holding my breath for :/

The previously mentioned remix that I found which I said had taken the place of an idea involving the original version... well, now both the original and the remix are on the to-make list. Both versions are extremely low on priority... especially since Ranma is needed for one of them -.-. Man, I need to get my ass out of college, GAH.

I'm an AMV creator with a growing list of ideas, and no equipment, and I also need to buy more source material in both music and anime, quite badly. I'm currently in a CD fever, since it is music that feeds me ideas, feeding that has been rather...um, generous... lately. I'm selling an old Text Book I'll never use again (from History, which is exactly what this text will become on Monday, as far as its connection to my life is concerned), and that's gonna end up feeding this CD fever. I'm hopeless *L*.

So, the to-make list has passed the 10 vids mark. I'm digging myself a grave as an AMV creator, each idea = 1 foot deep -.-. I'll have plenty of time to be laid back since I'm 12 feet under ground (ah, remember "I'll Be Mellow When I'm Dead" by Weird Al? No, I have no intentions of using that song for an AMV).

The most recent ideas that I have been getting are interesting, a style that isn't done much. ErMaC has sorta taken this direction once or twice, but not really as direct as the path I'd be walking along (if I had equipment >.<). I want to keep a little silent about it since these could be pretty original, which is what I want them to be.

I use the word style but I can't seem to place one on myself, the only thing I can narrow it down to is Electronic/Dance usually being the music I'd use. I will stray from that once in a while, and I hope effectively, but the bulk would be something like that. Over half of the ideas I have are using artists not yet used on AMV.org, too. But right now, I can't say I have a style. Perhaps I can see one when the to-make list is cut in half.

As for when will I have the resources... May 2002 is what it is looking like now. FUBAR!

Well, this took off in a couple of directions leading nowhere. Wheeeee! Reading week comes along in three weeks, I'm hoping to be pumping out a vid during that time.
  • Idea re-incarnate 2001-09-22 09:46:20 Meh, among setbacks and other things that remain simply unknown the to-make list gets one idea chucked, and another added... and the two ideas involve the same song, only not. What do I mean? I love remixes, that's what ^_^. Remixes give a completely new take on the song, creating a whole new perspective to work from. That's what happened yesterday upon a discovery of a dark remix of a not-so-dark song. The ideas for the vids are somewhat related but if I can take a middle piece out of this remix, its gonna be a fun, mind-f*ck of a vid...completely different perspective from you'd get from the original version of the song. Hehehehe, evil. Now the question is if it is possible for me to make this vid (why must my resources suck ;_;).
