- *sigh* 2002-05-13 19:14:21 It's harder becomeing popular than I would have imagined. People actually have to SEE your work in order to like it... and that was just not something I had planned on. It's much easier to impress people once they see the AMV, it's just that actually getting folks to DL my vid has been a process of bending over backwards and kissing my heels! I have to go online and ask people individualy in chat rooms to get them to even look over my stuff... *sigh* oh well. School's to important to let this all get in my way... I don't have time to do school, make AMV, AND become a full time promoter for MY OWN DAMN WORK! I wish there were a better way.... how did you really famous AMV makers get there?

'cept I want more people to watch and review my video... why is it that people won't review vids? C'mon people... go ahead and download and watch my AMV... I'm sick of this school project... Dude, the con was... FREAKING AWSOME! Dude, it's like, everyone should go to cons. BTW I went to the Fanime con in Santa Clara. Now I have run into the delema that I want to go to the Recca Con, but it's the weekend before finals at my school. I will have to try to onvince my parents (and myself) that I can still do well on my finals AND go to the con.
My first video is now availible... and I've heard a lot of good things from people about it. Most people say that the editing is good, but for most people don't like the scene selection. I understand why, after all, I completely ignored the lyrics of the song. I always go on general feeling of the music over actual lyrics, I feel that the feeling is more important... I don't know.. I'm just a freak. Anyway, go ahead and check it out everyone! Please, PLEASE write reviews, I need as much feedback as I can, and the outup quality is EXCELENT.
Anyway, other than that, my comp completely died (HDD problems, I'm not exactly sure specificly what happened) and I had to reinstall everything, and now AVIsynth is acting up again! Oh... fooy!
I bought and watched the OMG movie, and I am sure one more time over that I will... I WILL... mary Belldandy! That movie was freaking AWSOME..... My next AMV will most definately be OMG.
Nothing else really... just chillin' in religion class right now, while I should be doing something more productive.

Sorry, I just had to get that out of my system.
My video is good to be uploaded and all, but I'm not going to until after the 28th of April, cause of Fanime con.... and of course the fact that I have no server space. I know no one cares, but I think you'll all like this vid allot.
I just got back from car-camping with my family. It was two days of soaking up the smell of smoldering-wet wood into my skin. even after I took a shower and changed cloths and all, I still smell like it.
I finished reading the Maison Ikkoku manga before we left on Friday.... man... the ninth volume is... uhh... different. Really freaking good... but different. I thaught no one would ever bring their manga to the point that they would use sex as a plot catalyst... and I'm not so sure it was the wrong thing to do, it certainly turned my head. A deffinate recomended reading for any fan of any of Takahashi's other works (Urusai Yatsura, Ranma 1/2, inu-yasha, etc.)
Anywho, I'm going to go pretend like I think I have a social life now, so please, don't drink and drive.

New Idea

Ok... that's it... I'm getting sick of the amount of time it's taking me to complete my AMV... I think I'm just not planning very well..... Well.... actualy... I KNOW that I'm not planning well enough. I get an idea, and I just start editing.... should there be a step in between? Maybe something like rewatching the anime and listening to the song a couple of time? Naw... of course not... having watched Sakura Diaries only once I decided to follow a similar philosiphy using a song that I was relatively unfumiliar with. Lifes not fair.... I've been working on this vid for 2-3 months... with somwhere in ups of 40 hours of editing.... at least this vid is neer completion.... at least length wise. A lot of the ideas that I had aren't going to make the final cut because they.... uhh... they suck really bad. And some of them seemed like such great ideas on the timeline... oh well.... I am slowly but surely working my way through my first viewing of evangelion on barrowed tapes from a friend who is fanatical about the series.... WTF! the series is not that great... as a matter of fact... it outright sucks. I will make this statement now... I have watched all of Robotech, most of Evengelion, and countless other mecha short series..... So what's so great about them? Scratch that... I will state now that I have not found, and doubt I will find, a truly entertaining mecha anime. I just don't think they exist.
Well, today is the last day of the AMV contest... and I have to placce final votes today... but it's such a hard decision. I really want to vote for the right people, but there are so many close calls. I have been going through the listings all week long trying to acquire every vid nominated so that I can make the MOST informed decisions possible. That's hard BTW because all AMV hosting sucks. That's another thing I have decided. I have not seen one exceptional hosting service while tracking down all these AMV. I think that AMV are so hard to serve because they are so big, and in such high demand. This is a dilema for me especialy haveing had the fiasco with my first vid and our local server. This morning I acquired Rhythm Animation and Memmories dance, both of which I had highly anticipated. I liked both of them a lot, but Rhythm Animation wasn't enough to sway my votes in it's nominated categories, whereas memmories dance changed my vote in two categories. I still think odorikuruu is going to come away with a clean sweep. I'm jsut geering up for next years competition, and I am hoping to maybe get nominated at least once..... hopefully....
Once again I should be studying my japanese right now... so I gtg... check y'all latez!
