    First off tonight I was trying my hands at RIPPING a game. Actually this would be my second attempt at it. Game in question = MOHAA. I was just seeing if I could do it. Idea was, convert WAVs > MP3s, TGAs > JPEGs... then put it all back together on the other end. This would net smaller sizes and the idea was that it would not harm the quality so much. These are lossy formats and data is getting lost, but it's okay since you'd probably not notice it.

    Problem tonight is you sure as hell noticed it. Horrid failure, stuff looks funky, large black squares. My guess is that some of these TGAs had alpha channels and the jpeg compression stripped it of those. That sucks. That sucks. Oh well, live and let die. Maybe I can find some other way :...O

    On to more legal discussion.


    Uncle contacted me tonight and stated that my 'great' uncle or something or maybe he's my uncle as well or something. Anyways, we'll call him great uncle. Great uncle can't get MSN Messenger to work, whenever someones messages them it just blinks down on the taskbar and nothing happens when they click on it. I suggested rebooting and re-installing. My uncle stated that they were thinking about getting a new computer because of this.... :O Holly shit, new computer because a window won't open.

    Another wacky computer story!

    I work at norm thompson, the order system has us do a terminal session on a SunOS machine that has a our text-based, keyboard interfaced order system. I was typing all along, just fine a few days ago when! Boom, something funky happens when I try to cut n' paste a order number. I get kicked to a debugger for the program ^_^;;, ahh it was pretty ugly looking. Anyways, I call one of the mentors to come take a look at it, mainly since I was worried my login was locked since the system would record me as still being in the system if I just killed the connection.

    Anyways! Mentor comes over, types a couple commands like "OFF" "EXIT" "STOP" "QUIT". Anyways... None of this works. So I think, okay kill telnet app, re-launch and release login, and re-start....... This is not the case the quote I have from him is "Sometimes they just lock up and you got to turn them off". >_<. And he proceeds to turn the computer off. It's a Win2k based DELL machine... Uhhhh, it's a telnet session that's locked up, NOT the local computer... GOD. I almost wanted to choke him....

    My favorite statements by these people,this happened at Stream alot since there were quite a few terminal based server side apps there, was "oh that's a DOS program.". I also heard this quoted about a computer BIOS. "It's in DOS".

    I was messing with C++ the other night, using the Dev C++ IDE. I am still scared of it and keep running back to Qbasic like a scared little boy.

    I've got shit programming habits as well I bet. Heheheh, that's what you get for learning basic on a Vic-20.. :... (


    I think I have a really good idea for a AMV. I need to edit the song so it's shorter. I don't feel like doing a 5minute amv.. Too long. Maybe around 4minutes. The smaller the song the better the AMV will be. Atleast from me. Less chance of me getting tired. It would be done to anime that I could just use basic effects on, nothing flashy. All my other ideas involve something that would take me a long time to produce and most likely will not happen.

    Gagh! This is the life of me. It's nearing the end of my first day off. I have to work for 4days straight after this, or maybe more. Plus it's going to be busy as fuck shit the next couple weeks.

    Sometimes life sucks, it should get better. Fuck who am I kidding, I don't know that it's going to get better, for all I know it'll get worse and it probably will because I lack so much motivation in doing anything that actually places myself in a position to get ahead emotionally, physically or finacially...

    I've been looking through the journals of love, I forgot how to spell journal for a minute there.

    Anyways, reading, reading, reading... The funniest of which is Sir Temjin's. Nothings more funny and entertaining then a boring life... I find myself going "OMNHMHMHMHMHMHMMFFFGGGMGMGMG RIGHT ON GIRLFRIEND", whenever I read it... Temjin should be presidente of spain or something... I don't know a continent would be good Temjinia, Temjinacopoko???

    Could have bunch of anchor women sluts or something, come be his heram, herim, herum.. I can't spell it, I am not going to look it up, that is a technical error.


    I was talking to RadicalEd0 and ErMaC on the phorums about HDTV, learned that I don't know shit about it... But I still don't get the freakin' idea behind, let's use twice as many half frames instead of just using full frames.


    I learned that SpPanda's real name is Tony and that Chewee was not a pet, but was cooked in a fine stew eaten by his closest friends.

    As for what's going on with me uhh I am currently trying to ressurect Kthulhu's computer from the dead while he's at work. I am doing this without having slept in the last 15 - 16 hrs our so. Not that bad actually. The damn computer, you hit the power button and the fans whirl for about 3 seconds and there is a short high pitched whining, then it all goes quiet.

    I thought maybe the power supply went out. I took the computer into the living because Kthulhu's room is A FUCKING PIG STYE! and it smells to. I guess a pig stye would too. Ok, anyways, I get the thing out there and fiddle around with jumpers and switches make sure the pwr switch is connected properly, the motherboard wasn't grounding, the clear CMOS jumper was set properly. So I grab a old motherboard that Kthulhu ordered way back when. It was a ECS board, I believe it's built off the KV133 chipset from VIA. It was a piece of shit, it couldn't make it thorugh the win2k install without crapping out and Win98 would install, but once you booted it would DIE and freeze up. Piece of shit. Oh well it was good enough to test the power supply out with. So I use the bubble wrap the the thing came in to keep it from touching the metal of the case as it hovers over it's sickley brother below. Hook everything up. Wham! Power supply works fine, fans spin up runs A-OK.

    Now! I unhook everything and re-install it on the old motherboard. No go still. I remove all the card 'cept for video. No go. I remove the video. No go. I remove the motherboard and balance it over the case on some packing foam. NO GO!. So this motherboard seems shot. It's a Abit KT7. Some Abit motherboards had problems with capicitators blowing up or melting down. None of the capicitators looked damaged to me. : Hmm. I think I am going to goto ECS's website and see if there is a BIOS update to maybe make the crappy KV133 based motherboard more stable so we can use that one and Kthulhu can have a working computer. It just sucks since it was working fine yesterday. Nothing changed :

    In other news, my uncle should be in Hawaii at the moment. I haven't heard from him since he left. I haven't heard of any plane crashes either :p So I guess he made it over safely.

    Yep that about sums it up. I have some Snickers Crunch bars to give to the little bastards as they come around. If any come at all. Last year I think someone knocked on our door. I acted like I wasn't home. :) I am such a nice person yeah. I should go out and do something, but that would require energy. I have to slouch out as much as possible before starting my new job at Norm Thompson being a telephone sales rep. It's only seasonal work though. I've got plans for what to do after that though :)
