FFVIII? Bad storyline? More liek, badass storyline. Better than FFVII's to say the least. I mean if it were better as a movie, wouldn't the movie be based on the storyline? And if the storyline was bad, then it wouldn't make a great movie, unless it was based on the gameplay mechanics, then it would be a bad movie, since that wasn't it's strong points (one of the weaker points, actually). I will admit the graphics didn't age well, but much better than FFVII, at least. Well, to each his own, I suppose. I prefer the characters from FFVIII to FFVII, actually.
Besides, most good RPGs would make better movies/series, and that's why there are movies/series based on RPGs. -

I have been playing RA3 the past few days and I have gotten used to it. The problem now is the lack of good maps. Been playing as the Soviets recently, and they seem better than I initially thought. But yeah, playing the same maps over and over gets pretty boring :/
Got to try out CoD:MW2, and it's actually better than I thought. Took awhile to get used of the controls, but once I did, it was awesome, though I keep throwing grenades unintentionally. I think my mistake at first was trying the Riot Control Class first, since I read about it in Bauzi's journal >_> Only got to try out the multiplayer and nothing else, though.
Haven't been feeling very creative recently, but my guitar's been calling out to me... - ugh 2009-12-03 05:46:18 Recovering from the flu or whatever has been going around here. 3 days has been the longest I've been sick in a long time. Whenever I do get sick, it's usually over night. Perhaps I should get some rest...

I was gonna make this post earlier, but I got unmotivated until one of my vids went up a count :/
So, last week, or more like week and a half ago, I watched some replays for RA3, and I'm like, Damn. I mean, I wouldn't even last 5 minutes :/ I'm too shut in a place where the internet connection anywhere else would be good for online play, but since I'm in the middle of nowhere it might as well be dial up :/ Actually, now that I think about it, I've only played a handful of RTSs. Now that I really think about it, I'm actually quite mediocre in most of the genres I play. I ain't the best in FPSs, in multiplayer I usually rank somewhere in the middle. Third or Second if I'm lucky. IN RPGs I usually end up underleveled when I get to a (mid)boss. Most of them I haven't finished and just need to beat the final boss. Platformers, I may have beat it, but haven't done any side quest/missions/stuff like that. THE MGS series I probably excel at the most, and they're kinda like they're own genre or something :/ I was actually pretty good at sidescrollers, now that I think about it, whether they be platform or fighting or the sort. Then again, most of them aren't that hard to master, especially from the SNES/Genesis era :/
Well, other than the MGS Series, outta the genres I frequently play, I probably excel at racing games, which is quite a surprise to me now that I think about it. I think it's because I can get really competitive, and there's nothing more competitive than racing. Most of my friends would call me a dirty racer, but I don't think I am. I think of myself as an opportunist, actually. The main difference being, is that dirty racers tend to mess up and it ends up costing the game. I also really hate taking shortcuts and people who take them. I mean, what's the point of racing if you know who's going to win at the beginning of the game? Even if a person doesn't successfully take a shortcut, there's still no fun in it.
Well, I guess enough of that. I should probably get busy on doing something when I should probably do something else :/ Not really. Maybe. -

By god, the Empire of the Rising Sun is so damn sexy. Especially the Rocket Angels. I mean, you can practically take out a base with 10 Rocket Angels, 10 Chopper VX and Yuriko. Well, at least that's what I did against 4 other normal leveled computers. by the time I got to the 4th base I had 3 Angels, 3 Choppers, and the same Yuriko, all starred. 'Tis a shame, actually. I had always been a fan of the Soviets, but in RA3 they feel so downgraded. Still don't like the Allies, who also feel like they been downgraded. It seems all the good stuff that was taken from the Soviets and Allies was given to The Rising Sun. Except for the sniper, that was given to the Soviets. What I find hilarious, though, is that even though Einstein died like Hitler died in the first one, there's still prism towers, mirage tanks with prism beams or whatever, and the chronosphere. I mean, if the Allies still had those, why couldn't the Soviets have Nukes? well, ya can use the vacuum cleaner thing then launch the toxic waste dump thing, whatever it's called, but that's not really the same :/ I might get Uprising, but not now, maybe next month :/
