I've just rewatched Spike's Wicked Games. Its been awhile since viewing, and I think the distance has helped considerably. Its less like viewing a traffic accident, and my feelings about it are more balanced than before.
I *like* this AMV. I really do. Its flawed, to be sure. I think the clip transitions in parts are far too jarring, some shots to static (due to having to use picture inserts into WMM), and there are timing issues in many many places. But, I got some parts down really well, I think. I like the musical sequence of Spike being injured and cared for very much. The beginning works quite well, and I think the end does too.
Its an awkward video.
Makes it very much like me in that sense.
I won't remake it. But I'll remember my mistakes, and try and improve on them.

Where I'm at now

I've almost finished my Gren video. Quality is terrible, but I wanted to make it entirely in Windows Movie Maker, making it the final vid I will make in that program. Unless I decide to enter one of those WMM only comps.
So after that, I'll be doing a Trigun video to Tori Amos's 'Crucify'. I'll rip some things tonight, see what's on there. I want to be able to display it Animania this year - though being on staff disqualifies me from prizes, so we'll see...

Hmm...

First entry here.
Well, am now terrified to watch my first video - think it will be like watching a traffic accident "oh, crap timing, oh my god, why did I chose *that* clip! I should be shot!"
Ah well. We will see how my next one turns out. I have higher expectations for it - I now know that you can't just chose clips for their functionality - only the maker will know its significance if its only there to serve the story purpose, rather than its asethetic appeal as well. I've fixed up this in the early part of my Gren vid.
We shall see what we shall see...
