NDK/AWA/AnimeNEXT video up
2003-09-24 02:31:28
I don't know if anyone actually reads this, but just in case:
My new video, "Haruko the Superfreak", which premiered at Nan Desu Kan 7 this past weekend (I hope -- I didn't actually go), is up for download, even though I'd said I wouldn't put it up until after AWA 9 this COMING weekend. But only as a VCD-compliant MPEG-1 file; nothing better would fit on my webspace. So please try to ignore the blocking on the shots with a lot of moving lines in the background (and there are a lot of them in FLCL)... I'll have a 480x352 XviD version up on the Donut after AWA.
Comments and criticisms muchly appreciated (after all, it is only my 3rd AMV, really):

Current status of re-doing the "This Is Otakudom" AMV: I'm finally up to the last verse, which means I'm about 4/5 of the way done. Hopefully I can finish it up tonight so that tomorrow I can take a copy down to Scott in Princeton for previewing so he can get back to me with suggestions for improvement.
And THEN I'll release it to the public, at which point my old .WMV one will be officially deprecated (and the link will probably be removed as well).

Uh...

So, uh, yeah... what am I supposed to put here again?
I've got a FOD that I'll probably update more than this:

I discovered the other day, to my horror, that all my sound clips from "This Is Otakudom" that I'd sampled to make my song and video (and my system sounds!) were all sampled at such high levels that they clipped, though I had been listening to these bits as my system sounds for 6 months now and never noticed the clipping. So I spent some of today re-sampling the bits I needed and throwing them into the original project file in Cakewalk Pro 8 and muting the old clips that clipped. Hopefully, people will better like how the new version sounds when I finally finish it, though I won't be able to hear much of a difference, I'm sure.
As for redoing the "This Is Otakudom" music video, I've gotten as far as the verse that features the gamers Steve and Murray. (My work on it has been very sporadic since I started redoing it... I have motivation problems.)
I'm cutting that verse out.
I decided that 6.5 minutes was too long for something like this, and that verse was the most expendable of the bunch.
I want FLCL DVDs.
