I finished Handsome Cowboys' Modeling School this morning, and it looks great, and measures in at 5.6 meg. Now I'm working on Crazy-Ass Violence, although I'm not sure how good I can get it to look, since it already has a lot of loss.

Successful Experements in Video Recompression

Just for the heck of it, I thought I'd see what the results looked like from transcoding EK's videos from the MPEG1 she released into DivX ;-). So far, I've got Failed Experements done. It came out at 13.6 meg, and it looks great. Although vdub was running for 12 hours on a 1.4ghz tbird working on making sure there weren't any bad mpeg artifacts in the source footage. Right now, I'm waiting for the processing step to finish on Handsome Cowboy's Modeling School. We'll see how that turns out.
EK: If you're interested in the DivX ;-) files, I'm more than happy to give them to you. After all, they are your videos. ^_^ -

*sigh* well, serves me right for being lazy and using amazon.com to order my DDR 2nd mix soundtrack. They just notified me of a "4-6 week" delay in filling my order.
In other news, knghtbrd and I are still trying to find a _working_ NLE program for linux. So far, though, no dice. -_- -

Well, I now have 2 modded DDR pads, and they work quite well. The problem now is growing the neurons neccessary to sucessfully play in double mode.
I had a half-baked idea for another AMV last night, but I don't think I'll do it. I have the song and the source footage is on DVD, but I just don't feel like trying this one. I actually had another half-baked idea about 6 months ago, and decided to try it. It was the final battle in Gundam Wing set to Duel of the Fates. I got past the intro and just stalled. I can easilly relate to EK's Failed Experements video. ^_^
Now, if I could just get my stupid capture card working properly... -

Well, it seems that I have all the neccessary programs set up again to use dvd footage. If only I could get my capture card working. I have an idea, and the footage is only available on VHS. *sigh*
I should be able to finish modding my DDR pads today... we'll see how well that works.
I really hope my DDR 2nd mix soundtrack gets here this week.
I need to win the lottery or something. Then, I could put together my dream editing system, and greatly increase the size of my anime collection.
I wish I actually had something to say here. Well, enough rambling.
