  • Sfier's Adventure - First Signs 2006-03-05 13:30:56 Using flash I've developed an intresting way to mimic actual anime animation.

    STILL SHOT:
I found a still shot of Seph, with strands of hair comming down accross his face.
Using Paint Shop Pro I 'cut the hair' out on a new layer.
-I hid the hair layers and went back to the original image.
-I carefully cut around the head and body so that it was Seph on a checkboard background (transparent).
-Then using the PUSH tool I push his skin tone over his hair strands.
-This made him look very odd, without Seph's hair strands he doesn't look a lot like Seph, but then I brought back the 'hair layers' I had hidden earilier.
-I check for consistancy, and found a point that the hair could pivit on.
    ---------
    FLASH:
I saved just the hair strands as a tranparent GIF
I saved just seph head as a transparent GIF
I put Seph into the flash frame and populated the timeline with ~300 frames
I put in Seph's hair and popluated accordingly
I raised the movie size to match DVD standards 720x480
I raided the framerate to 29.97 (NTSC Movie Frame Rate)
I then created some motion tweens to mimic movement
I went back to the original image and grabed seph eyes
-Using his skin tone color I covered his green eyes with tan
-This gave him the apperance of his eyes being closed
-I put this layer in to close his eyes and when he opens his eyes simply took it out of the timeline
I was under a time crunch so the 'stepping motion' didn't ever get finished correctly
    --------
    FINAL EDITS:
Finally I put a movie from FF7 in the background (movie of seph and flames)
I rendered the scene at 720x480, then using TEMPGenc I resized to 320 and added a bit of music.
I will post the 'small version' of this video here
