Wow.
Talk about a flip in success.
Last semester = hell with a warmer climate.
This semester = still hell, but with a really awesome level of "HOLY SHIT I ACTUALLY KNOW STUFF". Work is easier, just a lot more quantity.
My tax teacher also apparently loves me. O_o Not as in she wants to jump me, but as in she treats me really well and is nice when I ask questions as opposed to last year.

1) It takes longer than 4 days to get a complicated return finished. Especially when we havesome 500 odd clients wanting the same work done in this next two months. QUIT CALLING US. WE WILL CALL AND LET YOU KNOW. >:/
2) Provide us with ALL your information. WE ARE NOT PSYCHICS. WE CANNOT PULL 5000 DOLLARS IN EXPENSES OUT OF OUR ASSES. IT IS IMPOSSIBLE. WE HAVE TRIED. DO NOT ASSUME ANYTHING.
3) No. We will not validate parking. GTFO.
4) No, we will not be your postal service. YES YOU MUST PAY FEES FOR POSTAGE. YOUR CRAP IS HEAVY. DEAL WITH IT. IT IS LESS THAN 5 DOLLARS.
5) YES. IT DOES COST THAT MUCH. WHEN YOU CAN COMPUTE ALTERNATIVE MINIMUM TAX, THEN YOU CAN TALK TO ME ABOUT PRICING.
6) Do not try and threaten to go to a different accountant. It has been 2 days, you have not given us all your business information AND I am an intern. I can't do shit without approval. Cheers~
7) DO NOT TOUCH SNOOPY.
8) Thank you for the Cheesecake! It's nice when people reward us with delicious objects that are real.

T is for Tax Tips

Here's some lovely tax tips from a staff accountant. ;)
#1 [and most important] - Keep all your records of everything you buy and sort them by months. It doesn't necessarily have to be receipts, but make sure and keep bank statements. DO NOT FORCE LOWLY INTERNS TO TRACK THROUGH MILES OF CRAPPING FOLDERS FOR A 400.00 RECEIPT.
#2 - STAB THE IRS. Not literally, I'm speaking in generalities. The IRS people that you talk with via letter or phone probably don't have a college degree, let alone any knowledge of the Tax Code. Get your accountants to stand up for your deductions! 50% of the time, the IRS is WRONG.
#3: THE LETTERS ARE MORE SCARY THAN THEY ACTUALLY ARE. Get a letter about being audited threating your life and selling your children? Unless you're hiding something [SHAME], you have nothing to worry about. They're not going to throw you in jail for missing a few hundred/thousand dollars in unreported income. You'll just have to pay the amount you owe [if you actually owe it, see #2].
#4: Get stuff to us as SOON AS YOU GET YOUR W-2. Accountants are VERY BUSY from now until April 15th. No, we will not do your fucking return if you bring it in on March 30th. >:/ [Unless you bribe us with coffee from Starbucks or somewhere of equal or better value]
#5: WRITE IN PRINT. I don't know why more people don't type up their shit in word or notepad, but if you're going to write out all your stinking crap, make it legible. We actually spent several hundred dollars on image recognition software for cursive handwriting to make heads or tails of some files.

F is for first

Well today is the first day back to the unholy nightmare of classes. I'm already develoPing a terrible ulcer frOm work, so lets add to it! My hope is that I get at least two "a" passable classes, which can hopefully protect my gpa for another semester.

P is for Pokemon

I happily anticipate Black/White arriving in America. A little hacked off that Europe gets it before us, but I suppose I'm ok with it, considering how often they get the shaft when it comes to game releases.
More importantly, I cannot wait until I get to get a completed B/W pokedex. <3 There's nothing more satisfying that completing a massive side-quest like that. :D
