A general rule that I use when considering youtube is that I generally don't respond to negative comments that offer no constructive criticism. It's like feeding the flames and can draw in very negative and annoying people.
As for AMV.org, [GENERALLY[ the only way to get hostility aimed at you is to act in a rude/mean/unwholesome manner in regards to a thread, or the inability to accept criticism.
Although I haven't had any issue with either of the sites. Most of my subscribers are fairly nice people. O_o -

I LOVE MY FRIENDS.
A friend of mine is currently going to school in Texas to become a top notch engineer. He was also a MASSIVE anime freak like I am, and was looking for some extra cash. So for a mere $100, he's shipping me the original DVD versions of:
1) Princess Tutu [Complete]
2) Kaleido Star [Complete 2 Seasons & OVA]
3) Big Windup
I valued how much Amazon would have charged me, and it would have cost me nearly 140 bucks [for not bootlegs and when you consider shipping] for the same items.
I really didn't want Big Windup, but he wanted another 25 bucks, so I let him pick what to part with.
This is also the same guy that got me into Evangelion, which got me into anime and AMV making. So, YAY. <3
[I just wish he didn't have the sad Shinkai obsession]

Cardcaptor Sakura can NEVER go wrong. TONS of episodes and 2 movies. Still a classic to this day! [Plus, the series went blu-ray!] But it's one hell of a cash investment. >_>'
