JOURNAL: CodeZTM (Zackary )

  • W is for Weight 2009-08-24 20:39:39 Down 22 1/2 pounds. =D Still got another 17 1/2 to go before I hit my goal, but I'm over halfway there. =D

On a funner note, here is my list of classes and what I think of them thus far.

    1) Business Systems: Awesome, but long. The professor is VERY HELPFUL and nice, although he's quite a geezer.

    2) Business Cal: Gonna be easy. The Professor doesn't know the material and we spent 1 hour graphing a function. [Math people will understand the stupidity of this]

    3) Economics I: LOVE IT. My favorite class thus far and it does nicely explaining human behaivor.

    4) Biology: I'm not a big science person, so instead enjoy this gargling noise out of my mouth. BALLHALDFHALDHFALDHADTHDHFHAAAAH.

    5) Computer Systems: Learning Microsoft Word and Powerpoint and Excel. Required for major. *facepalm*

Classes are great and the hours are great too.

  • M is for Mood 2009-08-17 21:01:47 I'm in a bad one.

Mostly it's out of sheer irritation. I spent nearly an hour today doing something nice for somebody [calculating figures at work], so they could get off early and have a nice anniversary. Instead of taking the work I did, they simply scoffed at me and said they'rd redo it because I was so obviously inferior to them and that they'll do a better job.

My God, it's adding fucking numbers with a calculator program on the computer. Not rocket science.

    GAHHHHH.

What's worse is that I have to deliver papers tomorrow night late until about 2 AM, which I do not want to do, but I've been guilted into it.

I'm just so sick of human interaction right now. I need to be alone with a nice CD and some good TV.

Oh, and school starts Wednesday for me. Woo hooo. Accounting classes here I come!
  • H is for Hell 2009-08-16 16:44:31 My ISP can go to hell. Two days without phone or internet service. T_T

Well, I managed to make the money I needed to cover college funds and books. My boss was kind enough to give me a raise for two weeks then go back to my usual wage. She knows what I'm going through, because she had things dumped on her like that too.

Now that my head is cooled off a bit, I think I can really type it out.

My step-dad got scammed. Badly. A very good friend of his and him have been going in together on vehicles and sells them on ebay for profit. Well, they have a joint bank account where they keep funds to buy cars. They're supposed to have both names signed in order to take anything out of it.

Well, college time rolled around as well as other bills, and my parents didn't quite have enough money to cover everything. They had about 100 bucks to spare, while my books and fees cost roughly 1000 dollars. Well, my dad wanted to get HIS money out of that joint bank account and help pay for it. It had about 1500 dollars in it that was his.

When he went to the friend to get him to cosign it, he REFUSED.

At first we were kind of like "WTF"? My dad went to the bank to check the funds. It had a whopping 10 bucks in it.

We later found out that his "friend" forged his signature and withdrew all the money for a freaking cruise they took about two weeks before all this happened. What's worse is that bank statements are done online, so my dad never got a notice about it. They are not on speaking terms, and a lawsuit has been filed.

So there I was, needing 900 bucks that my parents could not afford, and frankly neighter could I. I had about 500 in savings and the 100 my parents could afford.

So there I was. I was at my first real trial I see in my life. [Granted, not a big trial, but it was really serious. If I didn't get the books I couldn't do well in the classes and if I didn't pay the fees, I'd get dropped from all classes and my scholarship would be lost]. I had to raise 200 bucks [my grandparents donated 100 to the cause] from my job in the span of just a few weeks, making barely above minimum wage.

Well, like I stated earlier, my boss and I agreed to give me a raise to 10 dollars an hour for two weeks, and then it would go back to 7.80 and hour.

I was able to make the paycheck I needed, got the books I preordered and payed the fees off the day before they were due.

It has been a very stressful two weeks, and I'm glad it's over. I'll never see that 700 bucks again, but I'm going to be sure to save my money more carefully now for when emergencies like that pop up.

Classes start Wednesday and I'm hella excited. Accounting classes here I come!

Note: Yeah. I changed majors. Teachers make diddily squat and accountants are in high demand in Arkasnas. =D About 70,000 dollars a year, and I've got a job with a relative promised once I pass my CPA exam. Can't turn down that kind of security.
  • D is for DRAAAAAAAMA 2009-08-08 23:57:36 Yeah... Drama at my house. Without going into many details, let's just say that money is at the center of it all and our obvious lack of it. >.> So now I'm needing to come up with another 200 something dollars in the next week to pay for my books this semester.

/goes to work full time for the next month

With that being said, I'm heading off the org until about September. Cya'll then.
