A is for Amazing
2009-09-20 14:41:20
It amazes me how a week of depression, sadness, stress, worry, angry and homicidal thoughts can just dissapear in one day!
I suppose it's because of a few things...
1) The funeral is over, and I finally have some closure.
2) My Calculus test is over, and I can stop worrying about that.
3) I got a promotion at work on Friday [read below].
4) Pokemon Heart Gold is importing from Japan and will be here Wednesday [read blow also]
5) Possible Web Comission [read below]
Needless to say, all of that combined with a sermon from my pastor regarding removing stress and worry from the body, and I'm back to my normal perky self! =D
Which is good, because my blog here was getting a little depressing. O-o
---------------------
3) I got a promotion at work on Friday
Yep. You're looking at the new Apache lead sportswriter for the Atkins Chronicle. =D
After the person who was originally hired for the job basically bailed and couldn't do their tasks, I was offered the position [which I was originally applied for, but was refused because this chick came in with a college degree]. Anyway, the college graduate sent in her story, thinking that a field goal was a touchdown, and had the scores and other plays completely wrong.
So I got the job, which will be an extra 50 bucks or so a week. =D
----------
Pokemon Heart Gold
Yes, make fun all you like, but Pokemans will forever be one of my favorite video game series of all time.
Anyway, I'm importing it from Japan, since the big pokemon community Serebii offers english translations for everything. Plus, Marriland is walking through it, so I'll be able to follow the story pretty well.
This is very exciting too, because I need stress relief with school this semester!

Possible Web Comission
My websites I've made in Atkins and Conway Arkansas have finally gotten spread around. The marketing and accounting clubs at my college have already got me making them websites, and a big bank president is considering giving me the web contract to make a website for the new bank he's opening up!
That right there will be a small fortune. The contract that he showed me was nearly 15 dollars an hour, with other benefits too, such as a new computer to host the website on to keep at my own home and maintain it, and pretty much a company credit card to have for website related expenses.
=D
Doesn't God just work in mysterious ways?
Just goes to prove to all of you out there that are sad, discouraged or stressed out...
There is a light at the end of the tunnel. So get through the bad stuff, and keep your sanity. Because tomorrow will come, and it might just be brighter and lighter! Who knows, maybe even the whole time of darkness might just strengthen your mind and soul, and make you a better person for it.

M is for MEP
2009-09-16 12:55:22
Lottery's new deadline is the 22nd [my birthday, lol...], and I hope to get everyone's finals in by then. If not, then I'm moving on. =D
Once I get the script from hunter, the voiceovers from hunter and wurpess, blabbler's intro, the compilation should only take hopefully a week-two at most. Once the compilation is finished, I can start project editor 2. =D
Also, I think now with the beauty of avisynth, MP4 files should be the new accepted "final" format for final videos. Because it's apain in the ass uploading 300-500 MB lagariths, when you get the same quality for barely 10-30 MB. Not only that, but those huge files take up a lot of HD space alongside the other files. I dunno, just me bitching about my Thursday MEP file that has failed to upload correctly 5 times now. >.>
Mellow project is... Mellow. I dunno if I can edit to that or not. But I'll surely try.
MJ MEP needs to get its blabbler ass up and running already.
You know, I've realized I'm a MEP whore. >.>

Also, I'm trying to find a proper dedication song for my friend George's dedication video. I'd like something soft and subtle, but still upbeat enough so it's not a total cry fest. If you have an idea for audio, please send it to me through pm. The person that sends me the best song and the one that I use? I'll give a free opinion on 2 of their videos.

A is for Anime Grade

Fate/Stay night gets a B+. It was a great series with great action, great story and a cute ending. However, I have to complain about the amount of material left out, once I wikipedia'ed it, it barely touched the surface of most of the arcs. xD
Toradora gets a freaking A++ for AMAZING storytelling and some of the most likable characters I've ever seen. =D
Full Metal Panic gets a B- because while it was cute, it overall just failed to entertain me. Souske was the only real "original" character in the entire story.

C is for College
2009-09-14 11:39:14
You know, I came into college full well knowing it was going to be a "challenge". Granted, my freshmen year, I did pretty well. All A's with the exception of a few b's here and there. Enough so that I have a 3.7ish GPA.
However, I have come across a class that isn't so much a "challenge" as it is "impossible".
Business Calculus.
Now, math is one of my favorite subjects now that I'm accounting [it'd better be!], but I have grown to disdain it this semester because of the professor teaching it.
Dr. Keisler. Ugh. How that name fills me with dread.
Today the ever important "do we round off or keep it as a fraction" question came up, because we have our first exam Friday. His reply was daunting [and directly quoted, I wrote it down]. "I dunno. Depends on what kind of mood I'm in. Some of you will get lucky, while the rest of you are fucked."
FUCK HIM and HIS TERRIBLE TEACHING MORALS WITH A LEEK! =P
I hate professors like him. He geniunely likes torturing students. It's not about giving us a challenge. It's not about preparing us for life experiences. Hell, it's not even about fairness [I have learned to exile this word from my mental dictionary by this point inmy life].
What it IS about is the sheer pleasure in making students squirm. Professors are the best positions for psychotic bastards who get off on controlling and manipulating the lives of people, and having the total authority to shape our very futures and lives with a click of a grade button or the drop of pin.
What professors SHOULD do is provide a challenging course material to students that requires outside of the box thinking, applications to real life and a systematic and "equal" scale of grading for all students.
But that's not going to happen, so excuse me as I grab Sanchez and make him go CEO on this dude's loli privledges. >.>

D is for Depressing
2009-09-12 22:02:12
How come my parents are such idiots when it comes to money? Not to go into any great detail, but they're basically broke and are mooching off of me and my savings until they get their paychecks. If they'd sell the damn house and got a smaller one, we'd be able to afford food. >.>k t
Oh, and hearing that my college education is useless because the goverment will take all my money and I won't have enough to live happily and I'll be miserable the rest of my life?
Moving to Missouri is sounding better and better with each passing day.
