O is for Opinion
2009-12-27 03:12:14
Ok journal readers, I'd like your opinion on something.
My cousin showed me her iTouch iPod tonight, and I fell in love with it. =) Internet, facebook, movies, music and apps and everything at the touch of my fingertips.
And... I'd really like to purchase one. I made a lot of money this Christmas, and I have several money making prospects coming up that would cover its costs rather nicely and still get me plenty of money to cover college expenses next semester.
So here's where the opinion comes in.
Is it really worth it? I'm speaking more to iTouch users on this one.
To me, I think I'd use it pretty often. My laptop is nice, but I hate dragging it to school every day just to check facebook and this site and a few other forums, and it takes nearly 30 minutes to get wireless internet confirmed from the school server. The iTouch things get instant access, or so says my friends that have them at school. I'd love a music player for inbetween classes, and I've heard its pretty hassell free in the movie department with tons of converters. Plus, free "fake texting" for when my phone is dead.
To be completely honest, it's a total splurge on my part, and I RARELY splurge on expensive things for myself, saving money for college and other things. But I have a lot of money coming in shortly, and it's just $200.

C is for Christmas
2009-12-26 17:08:35
Well, me and my family had a rather lovely Christmas together.
My father's family thing was great, and I got nearly 100 bucks in poker winnings. But then again, get my uncle and dad drunk and they're real easy. xD
My mother's family thing was also great, and my grandparents gave all us kids 200 dollars for Christmas, which is... Ridiculous. We usually get $50, and I thought THAT was too much. Either way, it was really nice of them to do it, and it'll really help me out for my summer semester of college that I have to pay for. >.>
My stepfather's christmas was just as awkward as it always is, and once again I was nicely asked to not be in the family photo [my stepfather's family is catholic and since I'm a bastard child out of wedlock, many of their family don't even think I exist], so I took the photos again this year. It kind of hurts that I'm not allowed to be in ANY photos of my stepdad's family, but then they offered me a website commission job that'll pay nearly $10 an hour, and I forgot about that quickly. >.>
The family gathering of my grandmother's extended family was really really nice as always. WE played Rock Band and Super Mario Bros Wii all night, and I've come to find out that my uncle is better at Mario than me, and that hurts. >.>
Still got one more BIG thing tonight, and this one might net me a new accounting internship at a different family firm. =) And it'd be great, because my current internship has gotten a little nuts lately. They're working me 24/7 on the new project where I take all the paperwork and make them all digital, and I've asked to cut down on hours, but they've pretty much refused. >.>
/facepalm
