  • D is for Duradurawhateveritscalled 2010-05-09 23:26:15 MUST WATCH MOAR. O_O

Just scene the first two episodes, but it actually looks like an anime I'd enjoy. And it's been MONTHS since I've seen a series I've actually liked. :D
  • A is for ARRRG 2010-05-09 01:48:34 We're still doing the marathon for Susan G. Komen at thespeedgamers.com.

But crap we've had issues. In the middle of the Earthbound run, our cartridge died and we lost our save file. >_<

Then in the middle of Mother 3, the same thing happened. WE still have the save file, but all the text and graphics are glitched beyond belief.

  • S is for Speed Gamers 2010-05-07 13:46:56 The upcoming MotherMarathon starts May 7th at 6:00PM and will run for 48 hours. We will be playing through all of the Mother games while raising money for Susan G. Komen for the Cure.

TheSpeedGamers have been streaming video game marathons for over a year to raise money for various charities. In total they have raised over $130,000 dollars and played 16 marathons. They have raised over $50,000 in their week long Final Fantasy Marathon, and have made multiple news appearances. This upcoming marathon will be for Susan G. Komen for the Cure. This charity helps to raise the awareness of, and fund research for, breast cancer.

During the marathon we will have multiple contests to win various prizes. Some are contributed by TheSpeedGamers' gracious community members.

  • J is for Just Cause 2 2010-05-06 17:35:30 I am having SO much fun with this game right now that I can't barely describe it. I do what I want, when I want how I want, and the game just gives minor suggestions on how I COULD possibly accomplish the mission.

Something that stood out in my mind... I started a mission and was told to infiltrate a base. I was SUPPOSED to be sneaky, but I said "fuck that", nabbed an enemy helicopter and blew the shit to PIECES. Mission accomplished. :D

Here's the REAL fun part. You don't have to do missions back to back. There are COUNTLESS bases/enemy territory to infiltrate and get cash and unlock new weapons/vehicles. By the time I got to mission #2, I'd unlocked a ton of crap.

Going to the top of my current list for 2010 best games.

    ________________

    Minor Complaints:

    1) All the base infiltration missions are exact clones of one and other. Escort tech dude to laptop, protect him and not get shot.
    2) Buying from the black market is a pain in the ass. I wish we had a shopping cart to buy a large stock of items and get them all dropped at once.
    3) It's SO easy to get overwhelmed and get shot to hell. Not so much a complaint, but DAMN, it gets hairy at times.
    4) Driving sucks balls. Especially limos. RAWR.

  • @ is for @Compit 2010-05-05 20:49:27 Yes. Yes I do. There are three types of games that I LOVE. RPG's, games that give players an entire world to explore and not make us follow a linear path and unique games that are totally new.

Just Cause 2 falls into the latter 2 categories. It's not for everybody, and if you don't like it, there's nothign wrong with it, I just really like it.

Although if I had any gripes about it, it's the placement of the controls and the variety of weapons that can choke a cat. Oh, and the grappling hook is a game breaking innovation. You can kill bukoos of enemies without them even seeing them.
