Entries for AX ready!
2002-06-14 13:07:33
Paperwork is completed and signed, “Phantom Somewhere” and “Just Another Day” are boxed and ready for shipment to AX. I’m a little nervous (of course) word is there are a lot of drama and action entries in this year’s AX. That was one real nice thing about AX 2001, I knew a week or so before the Con that both my videos made it into the finals. While I’d certainly like to win, I’m pretty happy just to make the finals.
Since the AX contest doesn’t allow the intro logo/bumper this year, I’m going to make the new year 2002 version available on the site. Its actually been available for a while, but I didn’t have a direct link.

On yet another note, I’m finally remembering to put up the lyrics to Hubba Hubba Zoot Zoot!

Phantom Somewhere
2002-06-13 19:49:24
“Phantom Somewhere” is complete, a day before the postmark date for AX 2002’s AMV contest. It’s a Dramatic/Horror video; I think it’s a little different from my other stuff. I’ve heard different people talk about AMV creators having a certain style; I’m curious what my style is? Or rather, how would someone else describe it?
I was going to put my entries for the AX contest in the mail today, but I reread the rules for AX and they forbid any text not directly related to the video. So I’ll have to ditch the flying Studio Hybrid logo. I hope the video’s name title is all right, both are integrated into my videos. Especially “Just Another Day”

DSL Flatline...
2002-06-10 15:56:56
Rumor from Earthlink has it that COVAD will have fixed my DSL line today. So, by the time I get home the FTP links for my videos should work again. Once the DSL is up again, I should work on moving the videos from the second machine on my desk to the dedicated machine in the server room. (Server Room, AKA hall closet)

DSL down again, download links down.
2002-06-07 11:09:16
Earthlink... I'll save my comments about them for the time being. My DSL line is dead again, I think it is the same problem I had back in March, but of course they're not going to even look at my problem for 48-72 hours. Wow, such steller customer service.
On another note, "Just Another Day" screened at A-Kon (Yay!) but no body noticed (*sigh*) Whatever the video needed to get the audience's attention it didn't have. I guess I'll see the crowd reaction to it if it makes it to the AX finals. Perhaps I'll be able to finish this second video for AX this weekend.

Just Another Day
2002-05-29 11:46:03
I’ve been able to show the “Just Another Day” video to a few more people and so far the feedback has been solid. Nothing earth shattering, no one has said, “That’s the greatest video I’ve ever seen!” but then I also haven’t heard, “This sucks!” So that’s good too.
With A-Kon coming up this weekend, “Just Another Day” will show at its first Convention. If I see anything posted about it, that should be my first feedback from people who aren’t my friends. That’s the thing about showing my video before the Cons, the people I’m showing it to know me, and my work. Its never the same as the crowd at a Con.
Once I log the video into AMV.org, it'll be interesting to see the reviews. There is really no point to posting it until I'm ready to make it available for download.
