- Quickfix for FTP troubles 2002-09-17 17:25:42 No idea what is wrong with the ftp server. I think I need to rebuild the box. However, if you want to download the videos you still can, just go to ftp://studiohybrid.serveftp.com/ this should open a window that lists all the videos available for download. Just ftp or copy them from there. I hope to have the links working eventually, but right now I'm putting the finishing touches on a video sample for my AWA panel.

Back to the good news, DSL line is back up, so is cable. I'm going to do some speed/stability tests and pick between the two. I'm leaning toward cable, since my cable has never gone out and my DSL has, a lot.

Back from AX. The Contest was, to say the least, troubled. Technical difficulties caused it to be delayed until 8am Saturday morning. I don't know, I am obviously biased, but I think my videos could have competed with those shown this year. I don't know the judges, could just be that my choices in anime/music didn't appeal to them.
Among the weird things at the Contest this year;
They didn't invite each finalist up on stage for recognition
They didn't hand out awards to the winners
They didn't say who won the judges awards
They had someone adlib as MC of the contest
Overall a strange experience. Obviously, since I didn't make the finals, I'm probably more disappointed in it than I would have been. Oh well, I did hand out VCDs of my new videos, hopefully I'll hear back from people who watched them.
Unfortunatly, the VCD has a spelling error. A spelling error from me? No way! :) - Old Entry, DSL line was down so its entered now... 2002-07-10 19:06:45 Bit of a downer. Neither of my videos made the cut for the finals as AX 2002. This is the first time I didn't get a video in the contest since 1998. On the bright side, if all 30 videos are better than mine, then it'll be a great contest.

Forgot to post earlier that my DSL line was back up Wednesday, and therefore the FTP links are working again. At least they should be.
I'm starting to stress, ever so slightly, over the AX contest. Wondering if they'll make the cut and be in the finals. Of course, if they do, I'll then stress over whether they'll win or not. :)
I think I'm going to work on a VCD to hand out at AX. I know that not everyone is thrilled with VCDs, so if I can figure out a way, I'll put regular mpg files of my new videos on the VCD as well.
Now to design a menu, a label, and finish my DDR2 project video. That one is super-ultra-uber late.
