  • Fontanstic Victory! 2002-10-10 15:04:20 The subject says it all... actually it doesn't.

    I'm remastering my Unforgiven video, one of the things that stumped me is I couldn't find the font I used for the title anymore. I couldn't even remember the name of it. Now its not that important, really, but in my mind I was stuck on that part, I really wanted the title to have the same look, but be "better".

    I send an email to a friend of mine. It was his computer I used back in '97 to create the original video. Not only did he remember the name of the font, but he still had a copy! Now I'm ready to begin the remastering process in earnest. I think I might use this Journal to relate the steps the process takes...

    Tonight I'm going to start by digitizing the old video into a miniDV file and loading that into a Final Cut Pro project. I'll mark the original cuts then mark the beats and transitions on music track. I'm going to compare the two and see where I want to tighten up the editing. 
  • VCD Menu Music 2002-10-10 12:04:07 I've had a few people ask me what music loops during the menu for the VCD I handed out at AX and AWA this year. Its the first 20-30 seconds of "Thorn" by Blind Guardian off the Nightfall on Middle Earth album.

    Last year's VCD used a track from the ONI video game soundtrack. Maybe I can put that mp3 up later.

    A side note: This is a very cool album, the entire thing is inspired by Tolkien's Silmarillion. Not sure how to qualify the band, I think most would consider it "metal". You can check out their website at http://www.blind-guardian.com/

  • Kick it enough and it'll start working... 2002-10-09 14:44:05 The direct links to my videos are working again. Not sure how, but it appears that turning the web service off then back on fixed it.

    If anyone tries it and is able to download a video successfully, please drop me an email and let me know.

    I think I'll put the Cliffhanger attract mode video up on the server. Might be fun for some people to see how the US has used Lupin footage. The game was made back in 1983, sheesh I date myself, don't I? 
  • MP3 2002-10-08 15:20:38 Some people have been sharing some pretty cool MP3's via their Journals (Thanks for the Shakazombie EK) that I figured I'd do the same. Of course, this is neither new, nor contemporary...

  • Nearly forgot... 2002-10-07 19:58:26 ...to put Just Another Day up on the FTP server.

    Its now available via ftp at ftp://studiohybrid.serveftp.com I'm still working to get the direct links to work. One of these days... :)
