I have to write this while I still remember what that feels like...
(I'm the kind that has a bunch of close friends - not exactly "popular")
Anyways, I brought my computer to school today because I promised to make my friend a CD. After finishing that, another friend comes up to me...
Her: "Got anything cool to watch on your computer?"
Me: "Uhm... Not really.... I've got a bunch of AMVs though..."
Her: "Hey, the other day I was at a friend's house and we watched this really funny vid, with Yami no Matsuei and a flying car..."
Me: "Hey, I've got that one! It's really funny, huh?"
Her: "Let's watch that!" (That's the video Quid Pro Quo, by the way.)
So we watched it... And then another friend showed up and we watched it again... And by then the entire group of 30 or so kids that block an entire hallway and pretty much never talk to me were all crowded around me and my computer.... And we watched videos for the rest of lunch! They're so much more fun when you watch them with friends. And I don't think that group has been that quiet - EVER! -

Want to know what's been bugging me?
REALLY long credits at the beginning or end of a video!
Seriously people... Take the average four minute song... Add two minutes of credits (yes, people really do this), that's 33% of the video dedicated to credits! If full length movies did that, then there would be 40 minutes of credits! Insane, huh?
I was trying to show my little brother a video last night:
Him: "I'm bored."
Me: "Wanna watch this vid I just downloaded? It's a fightly Naruto vid, I think you'll like it..."
Him: "Okay."
And thus I played the video....
Only to decide that I had somehow managed to download the wrong video - there was a totally different song and clips from two totally different animes. After being rather puzzled for about a minute and a half - "This looks like an AMV, but it's not the one I thought it was, and why do credits keep popping up?" There was finally a pause and then the real video started. LIKE TWO MINUTES IN!
Those are the worst. I want to watch people's videos - not endless credits!
Sierra Lorna and AbsoluteDestiny have it right - A little at the beginning and a little at the end.
NO music, NO clip sequences from other animes. Either make it silent or use the intro to the song you're actually using for the vid. Then a nice logo or pic or whatever and the song, anime, and creator - somewhere in the vid. If we liked it we'll look you up - If we didn't, nobody wants you to force feed us the credits!
Gyahhh! Sorry for the rant! All I can ask is that people please stop making really long credit sequences.

Man, I have a love/hate relationship with these things! People deserve opinions... but they take forever! I do love it when people respond to them though....

So... I felt the need to write a new journal entry.
First - I had Chinese food for dinner and my fortune cooke said: "Say hello to other people. It will make you happier." Or something like that. Anyways, I totally believe that, so...
HELLO EVERYBODY!
Second - In a fit of boredom and procrastination, I decided to visit the forums, where I browsed through the recommended Naruto vids. Ever since I saw "Phenomenon" I have been kinda interested - I occasionally watch Naruto on CN, but since I disapprove of dubs.... Well, I'll be psyched when a subbed version is on DVD here! Anyways, I discovered one I really like! Not sure why... I just like it! There's still some subtitles, but it's fantastic if you overlook those! It's called "It's a Sick Cycle" and it's about Naruto and Sasuke. Peeps should check it out and leave opinions.
Oh yes - I'm kind of obsessed with opinions! (And banners)
P.S. - Phenomenon is still the best vid yet! -

It's really great! You type in a band or song you like and it plays music similar to that. You can tell it what you like and don't like and it will update what it plays. It's like streaming radio by request. Kind of :-)
