  • Quality time with my computer 2003-02-25 14:57:39 I had an amazingly lucky day today. At 10 AM I got a phone cal from the open university where I go to study. My lesson was cancelled because the teacher was ill. This is lucky because I had decided after much thinking (*gasp* it thinks?!?) yesterday evening to skip todays lesson because I hadnīt done any of the home work. We have to write a 500 words essay and read some Locke, Rousseau, Hobbes and so on. If you donīt do the home work on time you will be kicked out of the course. The course is once a week and last from January to April and you can only be away for two times. I do feel bad for the teacher who is lying in her bed, but it was a perfect timing for me.

    This had absolutely nothing to do with the title so lets begin from there again. We had a LAN party of about 8 people (5 computers) last weekend and my computer finally got fixed. We played some Warcraft III, Settlers, Empire something and watched anime and AMVs. It was fun, but the best part is that this computer genius who is a friend of my little brother PARTITIONED MY HD. I had been using my new computer for two months already, but it wasnīt working properly. After he had partitioned the 80 GB HD I installed Windows XP again to my computer. After that I formatted the stations that didnīt have windows on them. Then I transferred my stuff back to my computer from my little brothers computer.

    I downloaded and installed programs from the internet like a maniac for almost two days straight. I had to get Opera, ICQ, Realplayer, Quicktime player, DivX and so on and so on. I was like a installing machine: next...accept...next....browse...next...next...next...finish. I even evenstalled this one program that apparently wasnīt compatible with Windows XP so all the text was ????. I had to navigate with the <???? ????? > . I still managed to install it, but it didnīt work out because the whole program was full of ?????. I still have a lot of programs to install. Oh joy!

    Now I finally have my own pictures (about 500 MB), musics (1050 mp3īs), texts, my web page files, AMVs and all the other stuff on my own computer. They had been on my brothers computer till now.

    A little update of my little AMV project: I have the anime, music, program (and I even know how to use it) and a plan how to do it. Iīm only lacking in the time section. I wonder when I can start it. The songs been on my head for a long time now. I even know the lyricks by hard so far and thatīs really something since Iīm so lousy at memorising lyricks.

    Itīs almost 11 PM and Iīm off to bed since I have to get up tomorrow before 6 AM. The best part of the whole day is when you go to bed and the worst part is when you have to get up early in the morning. ZZZZzzzzz

    Man I seem to write long journal entryes. Well since only 27 people have so far read my journal Iīm not boring the whole world with my long stories. Thanks for reading. 
  • Thank you Hakura 2003-02-21 16:53:08 Right after I had posted my last journal entry I checked what other people had recently written in their journals. I stumbled to Hakuras journal and after few other entries I pumped into the one she made 2003-02-16. It started "Aww I just read a beautiful reivew for my Eden video today". I wondered who could that be. Then it continues "XD thanks a lot you know who you are (Lupus)". Man was I so shocked to find out she was talking about me. I wouldnīt have known that she was talking about if she hadnīt mentioned my name.

    So I did write a long review of her Eden *remastered* video. I just read again what I had written and I think my review is one of the longest there and there are 37 other reviews. I just had a lot to say about it. There are some spelling mistakes and other stuff that I would like to change, but donīt know how to. Iīm such a noob. I think Iīll find a way to do it with time and patience.

    She also says: "thanks for your kind words ^^ " in the end (so the journal entry continues after that, but thatīs not about me anymore). She tought that my review was "beautiful" *blush*. I could swear that I was blushing the whole day at work and smiling like and idiot whenever nobody could see me. What she wrote just made my day. Maybe itīs because I have so much respect for Hakura and her videos that her words made me feel all worm in the heart. Also itīs just fair because her Eden video made me cry so this is kinda like a payback. (Iīm joking here so please donīt take me seriously.)

    I was thinking about this the whole day, but still managed to do my work without so many mistakes. I had a difficult time concentrating at work on thurday too, but that was because someone had hacked to my computer the previous evening and planted some viruses apparently. I got rid of the viruses and will defianently be doing major work to improve my computers security. When someboby that you donīt know is roaming free and checking your computers files, you feel pretty violated.

    Back to the review business: itīs strange that people usually ask for you to write your opinion about their video if you downloaded it, but they donīt put any opinions online for other people to see. Iīm not talking about Hakura here and I donīt mean that I want to see my reviews online for everybody to see. It just seems polite to put even few opinions online if youīre asking people to write them. Itīs also nice if you answer back to a review.

  • What is the first thing that comes in mind about swimming halls: Goldenboy 2003-02-21 00:22:07 I went to a new swimming hall with my family yesterday. As I was swimming there I couldnīt stop thinking about the Goldenboy episode that happened in the swimming hall. Not in the Kintaro way, but as a woman I felt kinda paranoid that someone might be swimming behind me... Iīve been watching too much anime. If you donīt know what I mean you shoud watch Goldenboy, but only if your old enough.

    Anyway the swimming hall was really nice. It had many different pools and even a steam sauna besides regular saunas. The steam sauna was for women and men. Thereīs a lot of steam there, but it doesnīt cover up all. For us finnish nudity sinīt such a taboo. The regular saunas were separated (men and women had their own). I managed to forget my swimming suit to the locker room when we left. I guess I have to go and get it next week. X_X

    A bit of the topic, but Grekon666 finally came home and brought my anime to me. He also showed me how to use my Vegas video. I must be really stupid because all the rewiews said that itīs a really easy program for beginners, but I wasnīt able even to do the click and drag thing. ^_^; Grekon666 showed me that you have to select the video not by clicking the actual video track, but clicking above it. Simple now that I now how to do it.

    Now that I know how to use the program and have the anime and the music. All I need now is some time to make my first AMV. Iīve heard people say that the most difficult thing when your making your first AMV is to just sit nown and start making it. Why do I have to be so busy?

    Our house is full (2-3 people) of my little brothers friends because they are having a LAN party. They are having their winter holiday and Iīm at work. :( Grekons there too. Iīm going to join them once I get home from work. I hope they have fixed my computer when I get home. I must be kinda strange for hanging out with my little brothers friends instead of my own girl friends.

    Ups! Look at the time *sweat drops*. I have to get back to work (micro films). See you later allogator.  
  • Catalina has finally updated 2003-02-18 04:00:53 I just checked Catalinas web page Diebus Fatalibus and she has finally made the next chapter to the FF 7 fanfiction Sink to the Bottom With You. I canīt wait to get home from work so I can read it.

    Iīm also going to watch Urotsukidoji III if I have some time left for that. Itīs been dusting in my self for two months already. Poor hentai anime. I got it as christmas preasent from my mom.>_< 
  • Accident: 180 AMVs deleted! 2003-02-16 07:53:53 My little brother had a little accident and deleted all of my AMVs which were on his computer. We were able to rescue some from the trash can (from a-f of the older downloads). I will be posting the hole long story to the forum after I get myself an avatar. I copyed the list from my Windows media player. The first list is in order of anime - band - song or anime - AMV title. The second list is in order of anime - AMV title or just the AMV title. Nowdays (at year 2003 downloaded about 116 AMVs) I name my AMVs which are in my own computer in order of anime - AMV title - band - song. Here is the list of the lost AMVs:

    I counted something like 180 AMVs. I think Iīve shown incredible self control for a) not kiling my little brother and b) not crying even a single tear over this loss. My brother just said that I can download them again. He doesnīt realise how much hard work it will take to a) find all of those again b) download them staright from the studio site (most of the servers are down nowdays) c) from WinMX which is slow (it took me something like two weeks to get some of the rarer AMVs). Itīs ironic that the ones that were rescued were the ones that I didnīt like so much like the DragonBall Z and Final Fantasy AMVs. I will be posting the hole story how all of this happened in the forum (itīs already finished and itīs a long story).

    We used this program called FileRecovery, but most of the recovered files were incomplete. Like when youīre downloading AMV from Kazaa or some other program and you canīt watch it before itīs completed. So if you know some program which can open video files that are missing some parts I would be in your dept.

    Iīm watching MexicanJuniors (Random Variable Productions) Happy Fun Time AMV right now. Itīs making me feel a bit better. Thanks.
