JOURNAL: Lupus_Lupus (Lupu )

  • Clearing up any misunderstandings 2003-04-15 02:28:27 When you’re speaking with people through writing there is always a change of misunderstandings. It would happen a lot less, if you could see the other person’s body language because that is an important part of communication (like 80% or something like that). BTW I learned that in some English lesson in high school. ^_^

So… In my journal entry titled as ´I am a she´ I wasn’t talking to Kevin (well expect for the part in the end TO ANIME JEDI:). I didn’t even know that he reads my journal at the time. I should have guessed so, but I didn’t. I was addressing everybody with that rant. Now that I look at it I do realise that there are many ways to understand it. Even when I was writing it I thought that it sounded too much like I was really angry when I wasn’t at all. I’m still having trouble understanding why people make such a big deal about he or she when addressing someone. It must be a cultural difference. *shrug* I will stop talking about it after this. ^_^

Sarah wrote in her journal that Lupus is some kind of terrible disease. I had no idea and I certainly don’t have any lupus illness. I can’t really tell if she’s joking or not. Lol O.o I took my sn Lupus_Lupus from Latin. It means wolf. I didn’t know what wolf is in Japanese so I used Latin. I thought that most English speaking people could “speak” Latin. At least it’s much more common among them than with Finns.

Wish me luck for the concert. I haven’t practiced at all on my own, but it shouldn’t be a poblem because the pieces are so easy. What is difficult is trying to be in the right tempo because we don’t have a conductor this time. You just have to listen to others and watch your notes in stead of the dancer. >_<

  • Baroque concert coming tomorrow 2003-04-14 14:15:14 Our orchestra has a baroque concert tomorrow. I just returned from the rehearsal. We're playing Back and Haydn and stuff like that from the 18th century. There's also an opera singer from Switzerland and a dancer from England. Pretty international huh?

Next week there's going to be an orchestra from Germany visiting our orchestra. Two girls are going to live in our house for four days. Unfortunately I don't speak German. Ich been ein Hamburger. Lol I hope that they can speak English. They're about 15 years old. It will be interesting. ^_^ Wilcommen! (Again I can't speak German so those are probably totally misspelled.)

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------

Simpi (from our studio) is probably going to come to my house next weekend to do some DVD ripping for his next video. I'm glad that my computer can be of service. I will be snooping behind his back and trying to learn how to do it. ^_~

There's a lot going on. Keeps me busy. +_+
  • Don't worry AJ 2003-04-14 06:54:54 It's all right. I didn't meant to make you feel embarrassed. Sorry if I sounded rude. I really don't care about small things like she or he. I just tought that you made a spelling mistake or something. lol

Online the gender of a person doesn't really matter so much. At least it shouldn't. And BTW I didn't mention that I'm a woman in any of the PMs. I didn't think that it would be worth mentioning. ^_^
  • I am a she 2003-04-14 02:39:58 I just thought that I’d make it clear that I’m a woman in body and spirit. It’s not a big deal that people keep calling me he, for me at least. They just get really confused when they find out that I’m a woman. It’s happened few times.

In Finnish language there is no separate word for he and she. In Finnish it's just hän. That means both he and she. So it’s kind of difficult for me too to separate the sexes to he and she.

I’m not going to say that: “BTW I’m a she” every time I start a conversation with a new person. My sex is clearly stated in my profile the new and the old one. (Still advertising ^_^)

It was really nice of Anime Jedi to *cough*advertise*cough* my new profile in his journal. =) I just wanted to correct the little mistake of calling me he.

  • I can't believe this! 2003-04-13 13:42:14 OMG! I can't believe my eyes! I just watched Jubei Chan episodes 1-5. In episode five a bit after the first half that weird samurai gives Jubei and her fried letters. Jubei's letter was in Portuguese and her friends letter was IN FINNISH. When I first saw it my jaw dropped to the floor. I could understand it! I didn't understand the Portuguese, but the Finnish one I understood. I still can't believe my eyes.

(Boy explains the Portuguese letter to Jubei. Then they start to leave)
    Sachan: Wait! Read this too.
    Boy: It's in Finnish...
Boy: Nothing special. (boy leaves) (This part cracked me up)
Sachan: Hey you! What does it say?
Blond girl: (snatches the letter) I know that you're probably surprised to receive this letter all of a sudden...
Blond girl: ...but I wanted you to know you're my type.
Blond girl: This is my reason to writing to you now.
Blond girl: I hope to see you sometime again.
Blond girl: Ryojoji Shinkage School, Tenryo Tsumura / Nickname: Mick
Sachan: Please get me out of this screwy anime.

I wrote that down from the subtitles.
And here's the letter as I can make it out (her hand is covering some parts):

    Päivää! Sinä kai ongelma ki...
    Saada tämä on kirje.
Sinä olet kiva. Minä pidän s...
    Minä kirjoitan kirjettä. Mis...
    ...ja niihin, eikö niin...
    Ryojoji Shinkage
    Tenryo Tsumura (Mic)

It's not written by a native speaker because it sounds like a two years old is speaking. I translated it the best that I can or should I say as badly as it's written:

Good Day! You must (have?) problem...
    To get this letter.
You are nice. I like (you?)...
    I write a letter. (Where?)...
...and to them(/those), isn't it so...
    Ryojoji Shinkage
    Tenryo Tsumura (Mic)

As you can see if you compare my translation with the one that that blond girl did. You can see that there are some major differences. Lol This was just so funny that I had to share it with y'all. BTW I haven't laughed this hard when watching an anime since I saw Gravitation. It's not only this Finnish letter thing, but the whole Jubei Chan anime is funny. Lolololol!!!!!1111
