I've never put much effort into the audio side of amv'ing. Always thought, 'hey, ya get it to wav from a cd and that's that', but it seems that the buck doesn't have to stop there. Been paying more attention to the audio side of the how-to-guides and will try this EAC thing to get my audio for the 'pretty things' amv. It's an older cd, heck I think it belonged to my uncle who died in the 80s, so it's a bit worn and (remarkably) lightly scratched. The sound doesn't seem too great -- sounds kinda faded, if that makes sense -- so I'm hoping EAC will bring it back to life.
Meanwhile, my attention will be diverted from amv'ing to a different form of creation. I think I'm going to attempt a costuming project, if my patience allows. All it seems I need to do is adjust the length and other small things on patterns for a chemise, bloomer, and combing sacque (mantle). The hardest thing will be adjusting the top of the mantle sleeves -- they need two balloon-type poofs, like the sleeves in an Empire gown. That, and getting the bottom of the bloomers and the chemise to look plump and poofy. If I can finagle a few patterns to get what I need, then I think I'll be able to divert some attention to another amv project.

Sub0, I never expected a return op after my long over-due return op to you, but I'm very happy that you liked the amv enough to give it such a wonderful review! You really needn't have, but I appreciate it so very much. If you were aiming to make me as happy as you were after my op for you, then you accomplished your mission. I'm quite giddy and embarrassed at the same time. Have a batch of virtual cookies, my treat! ^___^

Jade_eyed_angel, thank you for your QC, too! You gave me a moment of "Ack!" about the compression. I tried to follow Ermac's guide, so my "ack!" was a mental flag to look more closely at the compression part next time. Thanks for pointing it out, else I'd cluelessly do the same thing again.
This all gives me a reason to try harder to make a good video. Hm, but I think there's a touch of what could be dot crawl on Kyo there at the beginning. >_<

My current project's editing stage is almost complete. I just need to clean up a few things and then.... And then I might step away from it for a few days and see how I like it when I come back. The Shigure and Kagura scenes seem too cluttered with clips, which make them seem too hurried for the over-all flow of the video. But then, the Hana and Uo scene seems to drag the flow too slowly and may need an extra clip to add a little more interest to it. Not to forget the Yuki part, which doesn't quite yet work for me. What I do like are the Kyo, Aya, Momiji, and Yuki & Kyo parts. I'm very happy with the flow and mood in those, and I'm hoping I will end up being just as satisfied with the other scenes.
Then there's the post-editing, last-call clean up. Aiee, I don't know how that's going to come out. I'm using my old Adobe Premiere 6LE on this video, because I can customize my own project with it. My newer Adobe Premiere Elements doesn't seem to let me use anything but the preset options. Despite that irksome trait, I think I may go back to Elements for the next project. 6LE is really ornery when it comes to using &/or viewing (rendering) transitions.
Enough shop-talk. I need to go to bed! - stupid adobe premiere 6LE effects/transitions 2006-04-23 23:23:08 oh good grief. All I want is to fade a clip to white, or dissolve to white, or whatever to white. I just want it to go white! Stupid Adobe Premiere 6LE doesn't have anything that lets me do that! I'm so frustrated. I'm going to have to come up with something inventive to get me close to what I want. Sheesh.
