    When I set out to make an AMV, although I wouldn't scream it out loud, my goal was always to make the best Lee profile ever made. This was because I wanted to honor the characters, which I love, but also because, as an artist, you feel the need to advance your art form. You have to try, at least.

    When I decided to make a second video, I wanted to make something that would impress the community by it's creativity and execution. And thus a lot of effort was put into it, but not for the same reasons.

    That vid is not finished yet.

    When I started my third vid, I interrupted the making of my second. Back then, I didn't realize that this was because I needed to express myself, and most importantly, have fun, as the finals were bringing me down. The anime/song combo was too good to pass up. So I made it, and when I stopped thinking about impressing others and more about having fun, I stopped redoing my transitions a hundred times till they fit right, or slowing down and speeding up clips to the millesecond. The result was an at times, sloppily synched vid and a blast for me. It's better than my first, but only because my first was released three months ago, and contained all the errors you make before discovering the org.

    The point being : I don't think Koop had a lot of fun making Euphoria. Hayao Miyazaki once said : "A man must choose between a life of doing or a life of being". I've been debating which one is right for me.

    I choose both.

    My first vid was for art. My second was for fun. My third will be for art. And so on.

    I would like to conclude that great videos are made while having fun. But they'll be that editor's worst. 
  • Vindication... 2006-12-17 01:58:01 Well, I'm petty satisfied with my new vid, but ten star ratings in and a 2.8 averagee later, I'm feeling pretty depressed...

    Not to mention a random, disgusting quick comment. You shouldn't feel the need to sign it. Not at all.

    I can only hope that the people whose tastes I know will appreciate it, although I do hope they'll be honest about it :)

  • I care 2006-12-13 17:32:25 Don't overdramatize. People care so much, I don't even have to mention your name and they'll know who I'm talking about.

    I mean, I see where you're coming from, with the rough times you've been through, but you've found your niche. Today, there isn't a hard-working newbie on the org who doesn't enjoy your presence here. You are a mascot, after all :)

    So take a break, but I command you to stay on the org, in our MEP, and on youtube making dubs.
