Double header of movies today!! First I saw T3 which I thought was a lot of fun, and then I saw 28 days Later, extremely morbid and gorifide but oddly entertaining as well. So let's go to the reviews!
T3: Rise of the Machines -- B-
John Conner should talk less. And though I loathe Claire Danes to a level unparalleled by any other actress....I didn't mind her much at all in this movie....in fact, I liked her. It will never live up to 1 or 2, but it had it's moments and Arnie had his one-liners that were just cute. I loved the new bitch!! she was cool! The movie I felt though was a little cut off...maybe cut off isn't the best way to describe it. It was definately a weaker shadow of T1 and T2 and (of course) left things open for T4: Fall of the Machines....John Conner should definately talk less. I pray the screenwriter for T4 will not give him a lot of inspirational speeches...I know if I were the victim of one it would do everything but inspire me to go and kill a machine...he had a few monologs there where I was wishing that he would just shut up and stop trying to figure things out. nice special effects...a good turn-your-brain-off-and-watch movie. good entertainment, though if I would've had a choice, I would've rather seen T2 on the big screen. Patrick (something?) really made that T1000 character. Do you have a photograph of John?
28 Days Later -- I'm still wondering myself
Very morbid. Lots of gore, but oddly entertaining nonetheless. First of all, there was absolutely no allusion to the infected in the preview *i* saw...now the previews I'm seeing on tv have a little taste thrown in at the end...but the one I saw was centered on the first tenish minutes -- which were pretty interesting! (brain-dead environmentalist clip at the VERY beginning excluded of course...those people just put a bad taste in my mouth...shoot me if i ever am caught donating to greenspeace -- ah so this means i hate the planet eh? wrong! i just loathe greenspeace because they are a bunch of granola crunching radicals with zero life and perhaps one working shower between the lot of them...and I'm going to stop right there and get on with the review) So this guy wakes up and everyone is gone. very creepy. then he finds out that there has been this virus that has wiped out all/most of the people on the English isle...this virus is contagious through blood and saliva and starts to work in 10-20 seconds after contact with an infected. Once infected, the person goes into a violent rage and destroys everything living around it, except (oddly) other infected. It was entertaining! made me want to puke in a couple of places...but it was entertaining. I think it was a good script, but was taken down the wrong path and could have been done a lot better. For example, I thought Signs was really creepy because you couldn't SEE what was coming. you could only see the fear of the players and hear what they were hearing. that is good suspense. but here...they show you enough infected to stop your heart. anyway! the first thing i thought was that this was somewhat reminiscent of Coin Locker Babies (very fucked up (but very good!) novel by murakami ryu) in the "rage" that was infecting people. Though in Locker Babies the rage was not a virus, but a chemical reaction...and the "infected" in Locker Babies would kill everything living period, other infected included. there was also another big difference at the end of Locker Babies, but I won't say that incase someone decides to read it and I don't want to spoil that for them. Really messed up book. Good though. Highly recommended. I read the first page and was horrified and caught in the same instant. anyway, bottomline, I wouldn't go see it again. I wouldn't buy the dvd. but I will admit it was interesting and entertaining. I wanted to see it at least once. If you can stomache a lot of gore and a shot of the main character's wang, then you should give it a try. -

These past few nights I've been waking up repeatedly with a very sore throat and rather thirsty...I've also had some bad dreams. One involved me being Hermione Granger with a secret crush on Draco Malfoy (who oddly returned the infatuation...and the whole thing turning into a Tsukushi/Domiyouji-esque opera). How the hell does that work? Hrmmm...it is true I like Snape...but that's only because I cannot help lustfully envisioning him as my boy Alan Rickman...who is just beautiful. heehee. Anyway!
These signs point to me getting sick very quickly. which isn't cool. I don't want to be sick for the 4th! I fully intend to do sparklers and fireworks and gorge on bbq! I'm secretly aiming to get sick tomorrow or perhaps Thursday. Thursday would be ok.
It's really sad though because no one is using my tagboard that I put up on my website (i am a victim of lightspeed (too slow) subject changes)...I'm hoping though that the fact that I'm the only one that has posted in three days will be overlooked for people thinking I have so many posts that I have to erase them nightly for a fresh board. HA! woo. I wish. ;)
I saw the funniest Stardates tonight...it was one with Deney Terrio...host of Dance Fever (the guy who taught Travolta how to dance for SNF.) i love this guy. not only did he dance, but he was placed with this woman who had had at least 2 boobjobs and one lobotomy. (I thought the second chick was cool though! They were so cute!!) and I love the host too!! He's hilarious! but anyway....he's placed with this woman and is just soaking up the eyecandy and she's trying to talk about things that she thinks are deep and meaningful and he's just looking at her chest...I love it!!! and he danced!! he did this eye winking thing with his finger that was just awesome. anyway I'm a dork. - he mele no lilo 2003-06-30 15:01:16 I've decided to delete my animatrix idea for now. I feel really good about it though! not only does it liberate half of my HD, but it's just stale. It was a good idea, but I'm more in the mood to do comedy ones now. :) I still might do the short 43 second one, but the main on I've changed to is just fun. I really need to get more dvd's though so I can use more footage than utena.

i am somewhere in between a headache and vomiting and I'm not sure where or why. i'm not sure if it's because I ate too much or too little. regardless i think this was a great weekend. I went down to Kemah Bay today which was just fun. I also was FINALLY able to find Grease 2 on dvd which i had been looking for for many days....I also got Lilo and Stitch which was on my list too. :)
i also took advantage of my cat's ability and high affinity to open closed cupboard doors and moved her litterbox to underneathe the sink. if your cat is able and willing to do the same, i highly recommend it. :)
Woohoo!! I just came up with the flyer I need to finish for tomorrow. (Now I can focus on presentation!) i swear...my midnight juices are the most potent. I'm shamefully one of those who waits the four months I am given for a project and finally starts it the day or two before it is due. I think this next semster I'm actually going to try and and do things ahead of time. I don't know if that will work though. I seem to come up with better ideas when my creative time is pressed down to ten minutes as opposed to days and weeks. oh well. :) -

In posting those pics I ran across a lot of my older drawings...many of them of dragons. i thought that was really fun...I had forgotten about most of those and digging out my old sketchbooks was an adventure in itsself.
I'm craving my noodle bowl from Peiwei.
I don't know why I just put that either.
I'm making a resolution not to waste my weekend sleeping anymore. I'm sick of waking up at 11ish when I know perfectly well I'm fully functional at 8-9 and actually feel better about the day when I get up around then. so! this has been the last day pf that nonsense. and furthermore, I'm not going to have much time during the week to do much of anything so all of my updates will have to happen during the weekends. that includes my editing and such. which sucks, but the payoff is so worth it!
