I've finally gotten a good percentage of my vids up, and I can't help but wonder. What does it take to get people to like somthing? Do they watch on content alone, or do they actually take viewing vids seriously? I know I do.
I'm not an egotistical person. But I've got lots of college experience. I'm training to become a trailer editor. I really think I can say I have a far better sense of timing than a good chunk of people on the web.
So I wonder why most my vids keep getting two and three stars...especially when everyone I know in real life say they're the best vids they've ever seen, and also since I've only seen a small handful myself that are better (especially with editing...most other vids have absolutly NO sense of timing).
Ok, bruised ego out of the way. No, I'm not trying to brag, I'm just trying to be truthful. But I've noticed that my opinion and that of the vast majority of the world doesn't match, so maybe what I think makes a good vid and what someone else thinks makes a good vid are two completely different things. For me, timing, feel, an underlining theme, and a good matching song are crucial to vids. For most of the kids though, all they seem to care about is "do I like this vid? Do I like this song? Is this 'cool' enough?" Go figure.
I really wish people would comment on my vids to me in person. I would like to know what they think I need to improve on. I want to make vids that anyone could like, but it's hard when no one gives me feedback other than a two or thre star rating.

Finally getting into this

Ok, this is my first time really getting into this site. I've got about 15 different AMVs that I want to load up that I made. Only thing is, I'm having trouble figuring out how to do it.
Main problem is that I make my vids in Windows Movie Maker, so they get saved in .wmv format. I'd like to change it to .mpeg, but I don't know what program I'm supposed to download to do that.
I did try to upload one of my vids, but for some reason I can't view it. It says something about me trying to download this amv too soon after already trying to download it when I go to check...but I've never downloaded it before. And I can't download any other vid for the same reason. But I've never downloaded before...what the heck?
I have a friend that just joined last week, and she'll check next week to see if my vid works. If not, I'll have to request deletion, which won't bother me too much because then I might be able to change it to .mpeg format by then. Who knows.
