Today is one of those days when reality comes up and bites me in the ass. I was informed by one of my co-workers today that a very good friend of mine (and coworker also) has been admitted to the hospital for kidney failure. Here's the email he sent me regarding what happened... "His doctor called and told him the results of his blood tests came back and he has 30% blood toxins and his blood sugar is loke 650 (anything over 200 is very, very bad). They wanted him to come right in, but he told them he'd wait until after work. They demanded that he come right in this morning. When he got to the doctor's, they admitted him to the hospital. Dude, I think they were afraid he wouldn't live until this evening if he waited to come in. Give him a call. He needs you now more than ever."...I've known this friend for about 4 years, way before I ever knew anything about anime and it just sickens me that this is happening. He's helped me numerous times and it just doesn't seem fair that he should be enduring this (he's 28 btw). I'm gonna try to visit him tonight after work but the email didn't sound good at all. I dont know what else to say...
- Yes!!!... 2002-01-05 16:19:39 After some serious redoing and great help from my studio compadre Adiamante, my Utena vid is complete. I think this may be my best work and I absolutely love how it came out. This may be the only vid I've done that I have no regrets on. If you watch it, I absolutely implore you to PLEASE leave me some feedback! I'll be doing some review swaps tomorrow, so have those new vids ready for me. Who knows? Interesting few days...

Well, I must say the last few days have been a big ego boost. I was asked by 2 people to join studios and, after careful consideration, decided to join up with my good buddy Adiamante over at Random Variable Productions. I had been doing an AMV review section for his site and he had been nice enough to host some of my vids, so it seemed like a great fit. My best wishes go out to Antonio Zales Jr. and his production studios. I'm sure they will go on to great things without me. Also, I found out yesterday that my 'Happy Fun Time' vid actually won at MAS Prodcution's AMV contest. Here's the link to the winners...

My thanks to them for acknowledging my video with an award. On the AMV making front, I started on my Utena vid today and will hopefully finish it sometime next week. - Gearing up... 2001-12-23 10:35:18 for another 5 hour trip to San Antonio to share in the goodwill and present givng festival known as Christmas. I spent about 500 bucks this year on gifts, so I hope to recoup some of that with return gifts from some of my more afluent relatives. On the AMV front, I have 2 new ideas swirling around in my mexican head (1 Berserk, 1 Utena) and will probably start working on them when I get back to Dallas.
