Well, last night I finally got around to watching all the stuff I bought at AnimeFEST earlier this month. Here's what I thought of everything....
Love Hina DVD #1-4 = I had seen the series subbed up till the 10th ep, so nothing suprising but I was shocked at how horrific the dubbing was. Bleah!!! Could they at least get people that sound normal, Kitsune's VA was just ridiculous, she sounded like a cowboy for god's sakes. Subbed though, it's a funny show and the chicks are uber cute. ^_^
Berserk DVD #6-9 = Awesome!!! Dubbed or subbed, this series is great! If you buy it, be sure to check out the outtakes, they're hilarious! ^_^
Ah My Goddess Movie DVD = Great artwork and nice story. I had already seen it fansubbed before buying the DVD, so nothing suprising. The dub version was ok but it was weird hearing Sasami's VA as Skuld and Spike's VA as Celestine. =P
Kare Kano (His and Her Circumstances) DVD #1-6 = Very funny stuff!!! I had high expectations going into watching this since I heard so many people praising it. It didn't dissapoint, it was quite entertaining in a Child's Toy frenetic way. No dub version was on the DVD, so prepare yourself for some speed reading while watching it. The characters speak extremely fast but the humor is great.
Sakura Wars OVA DVD = Utter crap!!! I was so mad at myself after watching this since I passed up Shamanic Princess for it. The story is boring, the dialogue is lame and the ending is stupid. Do not waste your money on this!!! I feel like Fluxmeister after he bought Big Wars. -_-
Lady Blue OVA (some form of La Blue Girl spinoff) VHS tapes 1-2 = Not bad at all. Funny at times and the chicks are hot. ^_^ Good tentacle rape scenes but nothing too hardcore and vulgar. The story was actually quite interesting also. Considering they were only 5 bucks a tape, it was worth the money. =P
Legend of the Overfiend (Uroskitodoji???) = Some very freaky shit!!!! Interesting story, lots of monsters and tentacle rape!!! The chicks aren't very hot but the animation style looks pretty old. Meh, for 5 bucks it could have been worse.

- Holy Shit! =O 2002-09-15 00:39:41 What a great fucking fight!!! Before tonight, I had absolutely zero respect for DelaHoya after punking out at the end of the Trinidad fight. He won it back 200 percent tonight! He wore down a great fighter in Fernando Vargas in probably the fight of the year. Definitely worth the 20 bucks I spent tonight and is highly recommended when it gets replayed on HBO next week. =D One of the best fights I've seen in a long fucking time and the atmosphere at the bar was electric. One side for Vargas, the other for Oscar and chants of "MEXICO! MEXICO! MEXICO!" heard all over. Nothing better in sports than the feel of a big fight, nothing at all.

The AMV coordinator from Numa Rei-No Con contacted me today and informed me I did indeed win Best Rhythm AMV. He'll be sending me a Macross DVD this week. I really wish I had been there in person to see the crowd reaction but I'm thrilled another con liked my vid enough to give me an award. ^_^
On the personal AMV front, I'm having all kinds of trouble getting anything to synch in my new video. : Maybe it's because the concept is stupid and the footage is over the top gory but I usually don't have this much trouble. Oh well, I really wanna get a horror vid done so I'm gonna tsick to it and whatever happens, happens. =P -
