Phew...

25 seconds into my AMV and I already need to come up for air.
I must say, I absolutely love Sony Vegas. I wish it were as simple as Window's Movie Maker for the lazy lazy soul that I am, but the effects are mind boggling! The "Cookie Cutter" with the picture in picture option is amazing! It's two clips in one!
Plus, it was the perfect way for me to disguise some slightly explicit content that went along with the songs lyrics.
I don't think this is going to be one for the locals, probably going to have to do MegaUpload or something for this one. It's probably a little too racy for the rules.
But I'm pretty pleased with it so far. It's going to end up turning into a double character profile of two Speed Grapher characters because I just don't think there are enough clips that will get me what I need in order to finish the 3:15 song with only using Ginza clips.
Shinsen fits the bill as well and there is a fair amount of clips of her and with what I need for the song lyrics, so that shouldn't go so bad. The hardest part is hunting down the clips I need over six discs worth of stuff!
And I need to figure out how to make the size of my final save in a movie format a lot smaller. Right now it is telling me it is going to be 750 MB! Eeeek!

Oh Magic DVD Ripper...
How slowly your rip my DVDs...
I mighy die before it finishes the first one, and it's only one of six. x.X
So I've decided that since my last video was a Ouran High School Host Club video and one of my ideas for a new AMV is another Ouran video, I am going to do that one second.
I'm going to make my second Speed Grapher video first. I was planning on remastering "Click Click Boom" with better transitions, but then I remember to myself how that AMV took nearly a week and I think I almost broke down and cried because it was such a pain in the ass, so I am going to leave that one alone and go on to bigger and better things.
For my next AMV I am doing a character profile of Ginza and Shinsen from Speed Grapher to a song that gets stuck in my head a lot, is totally inappropriate, and I absolutely love it.
I am making the big step into Sony Vegas since I figured out those damn transitions and the trimmer finally. Yay! With Vegas, it will probably take me a month to finish this AMV. >.< I'm so not used to Vegas.
Although I have trained myself to stop using the scroll wheel on my mouse to move up and down with the scroll on my menus, because that makes my timeline zoom in and out and then I would get totally confused.
I really should video tape myself working with Vegas so people could get a hillarious laugh out of the things I do when trying to figure something out. Seriously.
So hopefully in a few days, or maybe a week, I will have a new AMV for you all to watch and hopefully enjoy!
And I just know there is someone out there just dying to rip and AMV apart, and they'll fine me! ^_~

Holy Smokes!

I haven't posted a new journal entry in forever!
The semester is finall done, well it has been for a week, I was just lazy and enjoying it. Got all my grades up and pretty happy about them, made the Dean's List for the first time ever! That made my night.
It's 10:30 a.m. on Sunday morning and I'm still in my pjs. All I still want to do is make AMVs. I've got two ideas picked out and one I am going to try and use Sony Vegas for. I've got it pretty much figured out, just the transitions are giving me a little bit of a hard time still.
The other I have to use WMM for because Vegas doesn't like my clips and I don't want to go through all the trouble of converting them with another program and making huge clips. It's not all that a complicated of a video either so WMM will do just fine by me.
I'm a little sad though, because my Haruhi in Wonderland video was received so well, that my future AMVs will be as crappy as my videos before those. But oh well, at least I know now what to do to make a "good" AMV and won't make the same mistakes on these two new videos!

AMV... twitch...
2007-04-28 19:05:11
Gah, I can't wait for these two weeks to pass!
Then the semester will be over and I won't start working weekdays until June.. so I will have days and days and days to work on AMVs to my hearts content! I will be AMV spectacular!
And I am going to try and never pick a song that is 4+ minutes again. My Haruhi video proved that is just too hard for me to do when I actually want to make a good AMV. It would take me too long to do it right, I'm just too lazy for that.
Also, I'll have lots and lots of time to figure out Sony Vegas. It looks complicated, but I've figured the jist of it out. The transitions and effects made my brain swirl around a little bit in my skull though. That just looked confusing.
Oh my... I have such a bad AMV twitch at the moment. I have a song and idea picked out for my next AMV.. and I can't start on it yet because my computer with WMM is at my dorm.. and all I want to do is make AMVs!
-tear tear-
I once told myself I would never make two AMVs to the same anime because it was tedious, but I lied like a rug.
I am planning another Ouran High School Host Club video, but it is going to be a character profile for Kyoya and his relationships with Haruhi and Tamaki.
Damn I wish I could make it a yaoi video between Kyoya and Tamaki...
-coughs-
What? I mean.. that's getting a little off track!
Anywho, that's all I got. The AMV twitch!

Ouch! My brain!

Nothing has confused me more than Sony Vegas has.
That's right, I got Sony Vegas Movie Studio 6.0 for free!
God bless my roomies mother for buying random software and then willing it to me for free because she doesn't want/know how to use it.
I can't figure out how to get my videos to show up though. So far, all that shows up for my .avi files is the "voice" part.
I've got some homework now!
